ACME Solar places BESS orders of over 3.1 GWh

ACME Solar Holdings has placed an order of more than 3.1 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) from leading global suppliers.

In a release, ACME Solar said that these orders have been placed on leading suppliers including Zhejiang Narada and Trina Energy, which are renowned for their high efficiency and scalable storage solutions.

This marks one of the largest BESS procurements in India, till date, the release said.

Delivery is planned in a phased manner over the next four to eight months of the current fiscal year. The order value of these systems is well within the budgeted cost, enabling overall capex efficiency while maintaining focus on technical performance and supplier reliability, the release noted.

The order will support the deployment of BESS across ACME Solar’s multiple renewable energy FDRE and battery-linked projects scheduled to commission over the next 12-18 months across multiple states of India, the release said.

The advanced BESS equipment conforms to global standards including IEC and UL, ensuring best-in-class safety, performance and reliability, the release added.

Foray in BESS

It may be recalled that in June this year, ACME Solar Holdings Ltd entered the battery energy storage system (BESS) space by winning its first project, located in Andhra Pradesh.  The company emerged as the winning bidder for NHPC’s tender for cumulative capacity of 275 MW/550 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Andhra Pradesh, across two locations – Kuppam and Ghani.
