Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) has introduced a demand side management (DSM) programme for residential consumers whereby the utility will provide high energy-efficiency appliances at highly discounted prices.

This discount scheme is also applicable to AEML consumers in the educational institutions, hospitals, charitable trusts category.

Accordingly, consumers will get a discount of up to 42 per cent on the MRP on the purchase of ceiling fans equipped with BLDC (brushless direct current) motors.

These 48-inch sweep remote-controlled fans have a 5-star rating by BEE, and consume 60 per cent less electricity as compared with conventional (induction motor-based) fans.

AEML has tied up with leading BLDC fan suppliers like Bajaj Electricals, Orient Electric and Superfan. AEML will be offering such fans at Rs.2,284 per unit (MRP: Rs.4,000) for regular models and at Rs.3,049 per unit (MRP: Rs.5,235) for the “decorative” models.

These ceiling fans will help consumers reduce their monthly electricity bills significantly. BLDC fans consume around 30W of power as compared with 75W by conventional fans, for the same air delivery.

Adani Electricity has already distributed over 1,600 fans under this program.

Refrigerators

Adani Electricity also announced 47 per cent discount on purchase/exchange of old refrigerator with 5 star rated refrigerator and additional rebate in case of exchange of old double-door refrigerator with single door.

For this purpose, AEML has tied up with Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. Accordingly, AEML consumers in the aforementioned categories will be able to purchase/exchange refrigerator at discounted price between Rs.12,300 to Rs. 13,800 as against the prevailing MRP ranging from Rs.23,500 to Rs. 25,100, per unit.
