ANDRITZ completes R&M and up-rating of Tiloth hydropower plant

ANDRITZ , in a release, said that it has successfully renovated, modernized and uprated the Tiloth hydropower plant in Uttarakhand.

The contract was awarded to ANDRITZ by the state utility Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (UJVNL) in 2016. The last of the three units was successfully commissioned on August 9, 2022, and handed over to the client. The total output of the plant is now 93 MW.

ANDRITZ’ contractual scope comprised the supply of three vertical Francis turbines, generator components, electronic governors, static excitation and protection systems, and a SCADA system. The contract also included electrical and mechanical auxiliary systems, as well as the refurbishment of existing equipment, such as spherical valves, transformers, and switchyard equipment. Installation, testing and commissioning complete the terms of the contract.

With the commissioning of Tiloth, ANDRITZ has further consolidated its position in India’s hydropower project service and rehabilitation segment, the release observed.

Water to wire
