BCPL Railway Infrastructure achieves FY21 electrification target

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, has said that it has achieved its railway electrification target for FY21.

The company said that it has successfully electrified railway tracks of about 289.50 track km (tkm) in FY21, across various zones of the Indian Railways (IR). The company add that this has contributed to running of trains with electric traction which in turn would reduce pollution as well as the country’s dependence on imported fossil fuels.

 

Nimitita-New Farakka section

It may be recalled that in February 2021, BCPL Railway Infrastructure completed the electrification of the Nimitita—New Farakka section in West Bengal. The total distance of the project was 79 route km or 152 track km. The total value of the project was around Rs.31.4 crore.

BCPL successfully conducted a trial run at 100 kmph on the newly electrified Nimtita – New Farakka section in West Bengal, which has concluded 100 per cent electrification of the Eastern Railway.

BCPL successfully completed the work of design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25kV, 50 Hz, single phase, AC electrification works including overhead electrification and traction substation as composite electrical work in Azimgunj (ncluding) – Nalhati (excluding) and Azimganj – New Farakka / Toldanga (excluding) section, Group – 188A & 189 including Sagardighi thermal power station and Sonar Bangla cement siding in Azimgunj-New Farakka Section of Howrah and Malda Division of Eastern Railway under RE Danapur.
