In a brief regulatory filing, Havells India said that Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO) has issued an offer for allotment of additional land measuring around 1.58 lakh sqm. This land parcel is adjacent to the Havells India’s existing cable manufacturing plant.
In July 2024, Havells India had announced its proposal to expand the annual cable manufacturing capacity at its Alwar plant in Rajasthan from 32.9 lakh km to 41.2 lakh km, with an investment of Rs.375 crore. This expansion, aimed at catering to growing demand, was expected to be operational by March 2026. At the time of this announcement, the Alwar plant was operating at capacity utilization of around 70 per cent. This expansion is understood to be currently under implementation.
In May 2025, Havells India announced further expansion of its Alwar cable manufacturing plant capacity by 0.25 lakh km, which is from 41.2 lakh km to 41.45 lakh km. This expansion, with an outlay of Rs.340 crore, also entails improving operational efficiencies through backward integration and process improvements. This project is scheduled for completion by September 2026. The land allotted by RIICO, as discussed in this story, pertains to this expansion, it is learnt.
According to information available on the official website of Havells India, the Alwar plant was set up in 1996. Spread over an area of around 4.05 lakh sqm, the Alwar cable plant is said to be one of the largest single-location cable plants in the country. The Alwar facility caters to both industrial and domestic cables.
In Rajasthan itself, Havells India has two other manufacturing facilities – Neemrana (for water heaters) and Ghiloth (for air-conditioners). Other manufacturing sites of the company include Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Faridabad (Haryana) and Sahibabad (Uttar Pradesh).
