The board of directors of Jigar Cables Ltd has approved the setting up of a greenfield cable manufacturing unit at Rajkot in Gujarat.
In a stock exchange filing, Jigar Cables said that its board of directors, in its meeting of December 31, 2025, approved the setting up of new manufacturing facility at Gomta in Rajkot district, Gujarat.
This new facility will manufacture medium voltage control cables, high tension (HT) cables and power & control cables (PCC) with a total capacity of 500 km per month.
The establishment of the new manufacturing facility and the proposed expansion of the product portfolio are aimed at strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities, catering to evolving market demand, and supporting future growth, the filing said.
Commercial production at the new facility is expected in start in 1-3 months.
It may be mentioned that Jigar Cables, on September 22, 2025, purchased an industrial property comprising factory land and building, to support the company’s expansion plans. The property measuring 17,705 sqm was purchased for around Rs.5.80 crore, financed by internal accruals, at an e-auction conducted by State Bank of India.
The Jigar Cables board, in its meeting of August 29, 2025, had granted approval for purchase of the aforementioned property.
Existing plant
According to information independently available, Jigar Cables currently has a manufacturing facility at Gondal, also in Rajkot district. With an installed capacity of around 6.25 lakh km per year, this facility produces power and control cables, house wires/ building wires, flat cables for submersible pumps and aerial bunched cables (ABC) under the brand name “SIGMA”. Jigar Cables, it is learnt, procures major raw material, including copper and aluminium coil, from group company Ultracab (India) Ltd.
