Jyoti Structures secures another transmission line order for Barmer HVDC project

Jyoti Structures Ltd (JSL) has secured one more transmission line order related to the Barmer HVDC project being implemented by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL).

In a release, Jyoti Structures Ltd (JSL) said that it has received a notification of award (NOA) from PGCIL for Package TL05 of the ±800 kV HVDC Bipole Barmer-II and South Kalamb transmission lines project in Gujarat. The order is valued at Rs.648.91 crore, excluding GST.

The scope includes the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of ±800 kV HVDC transmission lines on a total turnkey basis. The project carries a completion period of 38 months from the date of the NOA, the release said.

The latest award follows two orders worth a combined value of Rs.949.35 crore received by JSL from PGCIL on October 26, 2026 for Packages TL01 and TL02 under the same transmission project in Rajasthan.

With the addition of Package TL05, the combined value of the three awards stands at Rs.1,598.26 crore, excluding GST, the release noted.

Recent orders

JSL’s recent order wins also include a ₹689.93 crore contract from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) for the 765 kV DC Pachchham–Saykha transmission line project in Gujarat. The company is also executing a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line project in Sri Lanka in partnership with Hayleys Fentons Ltd to support the evacuation of wind power to the country’s national grid.

Complex technical requirement

Commenting on the development, Amit Dutta, COO, Jyoti Structures Ltd, said, “The engineering and execution of ±800 kV HVDC transmission lines involve complex technical requirements and close coordination across multiple stages of the project. Our integrated EPC capabilities bring together design and engineering, manufacturing, prototype tower testing and site execution, enabling us to address these requirements through a coordinated approach. Attention to engineering detail, site conditions and quality at every stage remains central to how we execute transmission projects.”

Five decades of experience

Jyoti Structures brings over five decades of experience in power transmission EPC, with capabilities spanning design and engineering, manufacturing, prototype tower testing, construction and project management. The company has constructed more than 37,600 ckm of transmission lines and delivered over 1,800 high-voltage substation bays across India and international markets. Its prototype tower testing facility at Ghoti, near Nashik, supports the testing of tower designs under prescribed load conditions, with testing capability up to 1,200kV, the release noted.

The company operates two manufacturing units in Nashik, with an aggregate galvanisation capacity of approximately 72,000 metric tonnes. Its project execution experience also spans varied terrains and challenging site conditions, requiring engineering and construction methods suited to project-specific technical, environmental and logistical requirements.
