KEC International lands new diversified orders worth Rs.1,931 crore

KEC International Ltd. (KEC), in a release, announced the winning of new orders of Rs. 1,931 crore, in diverse segments. These orders span the company’s power T&D, cables, railways and solar EPC business.

The power T&D business has secured orders of Rs. 1,756 crore across India, SAARC, Middle East, Africa and the Americas, KEC said.

In Brazil, SAE Towers, a subsidiary of KEC International, has won two large EPC orders for the construction of 500kV lines, apart from some supply orders across the Americas. The total value of these orders is Rs.878 crore. Another Rs.486 crore worth of orders came from SAARC countries, Middle East and Africa. These included: a turnkey order for construction of 500kV transmission line in Afghanistan; a turnkey order for construction of 400kV overhead transmission line and 132kV cables in Oman; and, an order for cable laying and other orders in Saudi Arabia and Tanzania.

“We are particularly happy with our success in Brazil, which is set to further strengthen our outlook in the Americas,” said Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International, in the release.

Back home, the power T&D business clinched Rs.392 crore worth of orders for 400kV transmission lines from power utilities like Power Grid Corporation of India and Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Ltd.

The cables business has secured orders of Rs. 112 crore covering various types of cables, while IRCON International placed an order worth Rs.54 crore for railway electrification works in northern India.

The solar business received a Rs.9 crore-mandate for the construction of a 6 MWp ground-mount project in northern India, KEC said.
