L&T wins overseas orders for substation works

The power transmission & distribution (PTD) business of Larsen & Toubro has won substation-related orders in the Middle East, apart from a domestic floating solar project mandate.

In a release, L&T said that in Saudi Arabia, an order has been received for turnkey construction of a 380kV substation. The PTD business has also won substation and voltage conversion orders from hydrocarbon companies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Besides, in an ongoing 220kV power supply project in the UAE, an additional order has been secured, L&T said.

In the domestic market, the PTD business has clinched an order to set up a 75-mw floating solar PV plant on the Panchet Dam, in Dhanbad district, Jharkhand.

This plant forms part of the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park being developed on the reservoirs of Central PS Damodar Valley Corporation, in Jharkhand and West Bengal.

While L&T did not specify the monetary worth of the orders, the aggregate value of the aforementioned mandates is in the range of Rs.2,500 crore to Rs.5,000 crore.
