MPPTCL’s transformation capacity crosses 84 GVA

The overall transformation capacity of state transco Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) crossed 84 GVA, as of March 31, 2026.

In an official release, MPPTCL said that its total transformation capacity reached 84,293 MVA as of March 31, 2026, up from 81,911 MVA, as of March 31, 2025. [1 GVA = 1,000 MVA]

This growth is an important step towards meeting the rising electricity demand of the state in a smooth and efficient manner, the release noted.

Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister, Pradyuman Singh Tomar, congratulated all officers and employees of MPPTLC on this achievement. He stated that their dedication, technical expertise, and continuous efforts are strengthening the state’s power transmission system. He also expressed confidence that MP Transco will continue to perform excellently and play a vital role in the state’s development in the future, the release observed.

 

Performance in FY26

During FY26 (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), MPPTCL installed a total of 35 transformers that included replacement with higher-rating transformers at 11 substations and installation of additional transformers at 21 substations.

As of March 31, 2026, MPPTCL’s network comprised 1,046 transformers spread across 417 substations, including 132kV, 220kV and 400kV.  (See table)

In FY26, the state transco commissioned 138 ckm of new EHT lines, taking the cumulative network length to 43,128 ckm, as of March 31, 2026.
