Okaya lands order from PGCIL to supply EV chargers

OKAYA has announced to have bagged a major contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for supply, installation and commissioning of over 55 multi-standard EV chargers (100KW) as per CCS2/CHAdeMO Protocol, and 15 KW DC fast chargers as per DC-001 in Shillong, the capital of northeastern state Meghalaya.

OKAYA will be deploying these EV chargers across entire city of Shillong. OKAYA EV chargers are compatible with all internationally accepted standards and the company’s research and development division works round-the-clock to develop best-in-class product line. OKAYA has already catapulted its capabilities to facilitate well laid out electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the country, a release from OKAYA said.

Anshul Gupta, Director, Okaya Power Pvt Ltd said, “We are delighted to be awarded with the contract of installation and commission of over 55 Multi Standard EV chargers (100KW) as per CCS2/CHAdeMO Protocol and 15 KW DC fast chargers as per DC-001 in Shillong. With our ongoing efforts we are able to support the Government in creating a sustainable Eco-system for Electric vehicles in India. We are contributing our bit to removing the bottlenecks in the success and smooth operations of electrical vehicles which need the critical infrastructure of adequate number of charging stations and innovative charging solutions.”

While the Indian government is currently focusing on creating charging network to achieve its target of more than 30 per cent of vehicles to be electric vehicles by 2030, OKAYA, as a frontrunner in this space is committed to meet the emerging demand for best in class products and services for this purpose.  Such a massive shift to electric vehicles would require an efficient and mass scale EV charging infrastructure and OKAYA has already taken a great leap forward in this direction, the release said.

OKAYA aims to provide EV chargers and charging solutions across India and globally, keeping in mind the requirements of both the existing and upcoming electric vehicles.
