Olectra Greentech wins domestic and overseas orders for insulators

Olectra | T&D India

Olectra Greentech Ltd announced in a stock exchange filing that it has won an order worth around Rs.30 crore to supply insulators to the domestic and overseas markets.

The Hyderabad-headquartered company said that it has been mandated to supply composite polymer insulators (15kV to 35kV) to a “reputed” US-based company. The order is valued at around Rs.15 crore and will be completed over the next 8-10 months.

In the domestic market, Olectra Greentech will supply 765kV composite polymer insulators from an Indian power transmission company. This order, too, is worth around Rs.15 crore and will have an execution period of 8-10 months.

In both the cases, the entity placing the order was not divulged.

Insulators & E-buses

Olectra Greentech Ltd was established in 2000 as “Goldstone Infratech Ltd” and is today regarded as a prominent domestic supplier of silicone rubber and composite insulators used in power T&D networks. In 2018, the company entered the electric bus segment through a tie-up with China-based BYD Auto Industry Co Ltd, believed to be the world’s largest electric vehicle company. To reflect the diversification of business, the company changed its name to the present “Olectra Greentech Ltd”.

Over 1,300 e-buses

As of today, the company’s outstanding order book for e-buses stood at over 1,300. In early April 2021, Olectra Greentech Ltd had reported the wining of an order of 50 e-buses from a state transport authority.
