REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has newly incorporated two wholly-owned subsidiaries that will act as project special purpose vehicles for as many intrastate schemes in Maharashtra.
The two entities, incorporated on July 7, 2025, are Umred Power Transmission Ltd and Sakoli Power Transmission Ltd.
These entities will act as project SPVs for two intrastate TBCB schemes in Maharashtra where RECPDCL has been appointed as bid process coordinator.
The two schemes, in respective order, are:
- Establishment of 400/220/132kV AIS Umred (District: Nagpur)
- Establishment of 400/220/132kV AIS Sakoli (District: Bhandara)
According to information available with T&D India, RECPDCL has already started the bidder selection process for the Umred scheme while that for the Sakoli scheme is yet to begin.
Going by current timelines, RECPDCL expects to open the technical and price bids for the Umred scheme by July 28, 2025.
TBCB in Maharashtra
It is learnt that there are at least ten intrastate schemes that Maharashtra is planning to develop under the TBCB framework and for which RECPCDL and PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) have been appointed as bid process coordinators. The two BPCs will be handling five schemes each. As of now, the bidder selection process has been initiated for seven schemes with PFCCL handling four. Here is a summary:
