RVNL lands major RDSS mandate in Gujarat

 

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has landed a major contract in Gujarat, under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

In a stock exchange communication, RVNL said that it has received the letter of acceptance (LoA) from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL) for a full turnkey contract for development of distribution infrastructure for loss reduction in Vadodara district.

The contract that includes design, supply and installation falls is part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS)

The mandate, on which no further details were provided, is valued at Rs.322.08 crore and is expected to complete within 31 months.

Madhya Pradesh order

This Gujarat order is at least the second mandate that RVNL has received under RDSS. In February 2023, RVNL announced that it had won an order valued at nearly Rs.197 crore from Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd (MPMKVVCL) denoted by “Package VJ-B (Lot-1 Bhopal City and Sehore Circle)” in Bhopal region.

The order, to be completed in 24 months, involved “supply, installation, testing and commissioning of new 11kV line for bifurcation and interconnection, additional 11kV bay at 33/11kV substation, augmentation of conductor of 11kV lines, additional distribution transformer substations with associate new 11kV lines, LT line on AB cable, conversion of bare LT line with AB cable, augmentation of LT AB cable, 11kV line crossing agriculture & non agriculture feeder and other associated work & supporting works such as DPs, TPs, Crossing etc,” a stock exchange filing from RVNL said.
