JD Cables Ltd has reported the winning of orders worth Rs.8.81 crore for the supply of 831 km of aerial bunched XLPE cable, LT XLPE AB cable and control cables. Bondada Engineering Ltd has received letter of award from NTPC Green Energy Ltd for balance of system works for a 300-MW solar project at Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. This order marks Bondada Engineering’s first engagement with NTPC Green Energy. The contract, valued at Rs.392 crore, covers end-to-end project execution under the EPC framework, including engineering, procurement, site development, installation, testing, and commissioning. Vikran Engineering Ltd has received a notification of award from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd for a Rs.459.20 crore EPC contract, associated with the Chitrakoot-1 400-MW AC grid-connected solar power project at in Uttar Pradesh. The contract involves execution of the balance of system (BoS) package for the solar project and is to be completed within a 12-months period. Ceigall India Ltd has received multiple letters of award from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd for setting up grid-connected solar power projects in two districts of Madhya Pradesh, under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeders Scheme – PM KUSUM-C scheme. The solar plants, with aggregate capacity 130 MW (AC), will have a construction period of 18 months, and a 25-year operation period. Rail Energy Management Company Ltd (REMCL) has awarded a long-term O&M contract to POWERCON for its 26-MW wind power project in Dangri, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The project comprises 13 units of 2-MW Inox-make wind turbines that have completed their first 10-year life under the OEM’s care. Effective December 16, 2025, POWERCON will undertake a comprehensive technical health assessment, remediation of identified issues, and revival of the turbines to optimal operating condition, a release by POWERCON said. Luminous Power Technologies has secured multiple orders to install a cumulative 350 MW solar power capacity in Rajasthan, under the PM-KUSUM scheme. Luminous will supply 1,000 utility-scale Grid-Tie Luminous NXI A inverters for powering the projects. Bondada Engineering Ltd has announced the winning of a Rs.945.11-crore order from NLC India Ltd for balance-of-system (BoS) works on EPC basis related to 810 MW solar power capacity of NLC India Renewables Ltd, coming up at the RUVNL Solar Park in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. The contract also includes putting up the evacuation system to the 33kV side of the 33/400kV Park Pooling Station, and a 3-year O&M mandate. The order is scheduled to commission in 15 months. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), in a regulatory filing, said that its project “Western Region Expansion Scheme-XXV (WRES-XXV)” was commissioned with effect from November 12, 2025. Suzlon Group and Yanara have extended their partnership with the signing of two new wind contracts of 153 MW each for Yanara’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects in Barmer, Rajasthan. As per the contract, Suzlon will install a total of 102 wind turbine generators (S144 model) with hybrid lattice towers, each rated at 3 MW. The power generated will partially fulfil Yanara’s power purchase agreement obligations with various utilities including NTPC and NHPC. In Rajasthan, Suzlon has installed 2.3 GW of wind power capacity, commanding a 44 per cent market share. The company is currently executing large EPC projects aggregating 791 MW in the state, a Suzlon release said. (December 17, 2025)

The senior management of Fujiyama Power Systems Ltd, in a recent investor conference, said that the Ratlam facility in Madhya Pradesh, which is being set up with proceeds of the recently-concluded IPO, will add 2,000 MW each of solar panels, inverters, and batteries by March 2026. Meanwhile, the company’s 1,000-MW solar cell line at Dadri is expected to commission within one month, the management said. It may be mentioned that over the past one year, Fujiyama expanded its solar panel manufacturing capacity from 439 MW to 1,039 MW, and its battery capacity from 1,363 MWh to 1,863 MWh, the management said. Inox Wind Ltd has secured a repeat order from Jakson Green Ltd (Jakson) for 100 MW, following the 100-MW order recently won from the same customer. This order is for the supply of IWL’s 3.3 MW turbines for projects being developed by Jakson in Gujarat. Additionally, IWL will provide limited-scope EPC for the project and multi-year O&M services post the commissioning of the turbines. Vedanta Ltd, in a release, said that since FY21, the company has mitigated over 28 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to annual carbon absorption of over 1 billion mature trees. In FY25, Vedanta further strengthened its commitment to large-scale decarbonisation and energy efficiency, investing approximately $170 million towards its Net Zero efforts. Concurrently in FY26, Vedanta has actively undertaken over 30 energy-saving and decarbonisation projects, improving waste-heat recovery of steam, periodic overhauling, and optimising energy consumption through state-of-the-art pot controllers, the release said. Jakson Engineers Ltd has announced the signing of a contract with European technology provider Ecoprogetti SRL to establish India’s first hi-tech photovoltaic (PV) module recycling plant. The advanced facility will be capable of recycling approximately 300 MW of solar panels per year, equivalent to over 5,00,000 PV modules annually. Designed with a processing speed of 60 panels per hour, the plant will handle close to 1.62 tonnes of material per hour and more than 13,500 tonnes of PV waste every year. This high-capacity system will support the scientific, safe and environmentally sound handling of end-of-life solar panels, a challenge that is expected to grow significantly as India accelerates renewable-energy adoption, Jakson Engineers said in a release. Inox Wind Ltd has secured a 102.3 MW order from ABREL EPC Ltd., a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Renewables Ltd (ABReL). KEC International Ltd has won new orders worth Rs.1,150 crore, taking its cumulative FY26 order inflows to over Rs.18,000 crore. The new orders include a large turnkey order from an undisclosed private entity for building a 765kV transmission line and a 765/400kV AIS substation, on lump-sum turnkey basis. Waaree Energies Ltd has added 1.5 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity at its Samakhali plant in Kutch, Gujarat, taking the total capacity of the plant to 3 GW. The site is now one of Waaree’s most advanced manufacturing hubs, equipped with next-generation automation, rigorous quality controls, and integrated testing systems designed to meet surging domestic and global demand for high-performance solar modules, a release by Waaree Energies said. The company’s aggregate global solar module manufacturing capacity now stands at around approximately 22.3 GW, including around 19.7 GW in India and 2.6 GW in the United States. Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Ltd, a 51:49 joint venture between NLC India Ltd and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd, announced that Unit-2 of its 3×660-MW Ghatampur thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh was achieved on December 9, 2025. NTPC’s 3.7 MW solar plant, a first-of-its-kind solar–hydrogen project at Chushul, Ladakh, was recently inaugurated at the hands of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Commissioned in a record eight months’ time, the solar–hydrogen-based microgrid will replace diesel generator sets currently used at remote Army locations. NTPC has designed a stand-alone microgrid using hydrogen as the storage medium to supply 200 kW of power at any time of the day, throughout the year. The Protection Cell of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL), which ensures round-the-clock monitoring and safety of more than 42,000 km of transmission lines, over 417 EHT substations and more than 1,000 power transformers across the state, is now operating entirely through a digital system, MPPTCL said in a release. All fault reports, event data, disturbance records, tracking files and analytical reports are now instantly available through mobile, email or Google Sheets. MEHRU Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Pvt Ltd (Mehru), a subsidiary of Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd (QPE, has secured a major order valued at approximately Rs.26 crore, the largest single order for the supply of 400kV and 220kV oil-cooled current transformers (CTs). This order from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd strengthens Mehru’s longstanding leadership in the high-voltage instrument transformer segment, particularly in the 132kV – 500kV range. RMC Switchgears Ltd has received a letter of intent amounting to around Rs.27.78 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd for executing works relating to construction of 132kV GIS substation (GSS), Kaparda SEZ, Jodhpur district, along with associated LILO of 132kV single-circuit Bilara-Jhalamand line to the GSS. The contract also involves construction of 132kV single-circuit Bhawad-Kirmarsariya line along with one 132kV bay each at Bhawad and Kirmarsariya GSS. To be completed in 18 months, the contract includes supply of all equipment/materials (except power transformer), erection (including civil works), testing and commissioning, RMC Switchgears said in a stock exchange filing. GE Vernova Power India Ltd (GEVPIL) has entered into a scheme of arrangement with JSW Energy for demerger of the business comprising of manufacture and supply of power boilers components, pressure vessels, piping, and coal mills for thermal power plants at the Durgapur facility in West Bengal. As per the scheme having appointed date July 1, 2025, one equity share of Rs.10 each of JSW Energy will be given to shareholders of GVPIL for every 139 shares held. Inox Wind Ltd has entered into an exclusive MoU with KP Energy Ltd (KPE), a balance-of-plant (BoP) solutions provider in the renewable energy industry. The MoU seeks establish a strategic partnership aimed at jointly developing 2.5 GW of wind and wind-solar hybrid power projects across multiple locations. Under the MoU, IWL along with its subsidiaries will supply wind turbine generators and associated equipment, provide engineering support including USS design, transformer specifications, and foundation design, and will execute pre-commissioning, commissioning and O&M of wind turbine generators. KPE will undertake project development activities such as securing connectivity, land and right-of-way, obtaining statutory approvals, and executing Balance of Plant and EPC works. KPI Green Energy Ltd said that it has signed the contract agreements with SJVN Ltd for execution of a 200 MW (AC) Solar Power Project at the GIPCL Renewable Energy Park, Khavda, Gujarat. Power Instrumentation Gujarat Ltd (PIGL), in a release, said that its cumulative order inflow in FY26, up to November 11, 2025, stood at Rs.133.67 crore, and its order book position as of given date was over Rs.520 crore. The largest order secured during FY26 so far was that from Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam, a power discom in Rajasthan. Valued at Rs.102.78 crore, this order, under RDSS, involves turnkey electrification in the Dungapur and Salungar circles. In another development during the current year, PIGL acquired additional 35.82 per cent equity stake in Peaton Electrical Company Ltd (PECL) making it a subsidiary of PIGL with 51.06 per cent stake. JD Cables Ltd said that its outstanding order book, as of September 30, 2025, stood at Rs.286.21 crore. During H1FY26, the company secured vendor approvals from utilities in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. In October 2025, it may be recalled, the company acquired an industrial facility measuring 1.18 lakh sqft at Dankuni, Hooghly district, West Bengal, towards capacity expansion of its aluminium conductor business. The Maharashtra government has signed an MoU worth Rs.8,000 crore with Singapore-based GSC Group for the 1,500-MW Panchmauli-Devalipada Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Project in Dhule and Nandurbar districts. This is GSC’s third proposed PSP in India after Chhadgada PSP (900 MW) in Uttar Pradesh and Jankhai PSP (1500 MW) in Madhya Pradesh. Caravel Minerals Ltd has announced the signing of an MoU with Kutch Copper Ltd (KCL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd. Among other things, the partnership also establishes an exclusive framework for negotiating a life-of-mine off-take agreement covering up to 100% of Caravel’s copper concentrate output, expected to be around 62,000 tonnes to 71,000 tonnes of payable copper per annum in the early years. Under the agreement, AESL will manage the entire green power value chain for the additional power requirement of RSWM Ltd. Towards this, RSWM invested Rs.60 crore under the Group Captive Scheme with a renewable generation company for annual supply of 31.53 crore units of green power to its manufacturing facilities across Rajasthan. Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) achieved monthly electricity traded volume (excluding TRAS) of 11,233 MU (million units or million kWh) in October 2025, marking an 16.5 per cent increase on year-on-year basis. A total of 6.19 lakh Renewable Energy Certificates were traded during the month, marking a 39.4 per cent year-on-year increase. The Day-Ahead Market (DAM) including HPDAM achieved 4,684 MU in October 2025 as compared to 4,388 MU volume in October 2024, increase of 6.7 per cent year-on-year, IEX said in a release. Senvion India has signed an MoU with Integrum Energy to supply and commission up to 50 units of the 4.2M160 model. This collaboration represents potential capacity addition of 210 MW across Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka. Deliveries under the MoU are expected to begin in Q2FY27 with phased erection and commissioning to follow. The scope includes supply, supervision, and commissioning. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) have signed agreements for the incorporation of two joint ventures – one each in India and Nepal – for the development of high-capacity cross-border 400kV double-circuit power transmission lines. The two lines are Inaruwa (Nepal) – New Purnea (India) and Lamki (Dododhara) (Nepal) –Bareilly (India). Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (PVUNL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, commenced trial operations of Unit-1 of 800 MW of the Patratu super thermal power project (Stage-1 of 3 x 800-MW) at Patratu in Jharkhand, on October 16, 2025. With this, the installed capacity of NTPC Group rose to 84,849 MW. PVUNL is a 74:26 joint venture between NTPC Ltd and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd. NTPC Ltd has signed a pact Engineers India Ltd to develop a coal-to-synthetic natural gas (SNG) facility. In a significant step towards managing ‘peak hour power generation that will lead to improved grid stability, NTPC is actively looking towards coal gasification and synthetic natural gas production. The proposed facility will utilize high ash Indian coal from NTPC’s captive mines, converting it into SNG – a cleaner fuel alternative for NTPC’s gas-based power stations as well as in-situ power generation, a release from NTPC said. Ola Electric has launched its first residential battery energy storage system (BESS) solution market with a portable, on-demand resource designed for modern Indian households, farms, and businesses. Serentica Renewables has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with MRF Ltd to supply clean power under the captive power framework. An SPV was created specifically to supply RE power to MRF in which MRF has picked captive minority stake and the rest is held by Serentica. The clean energy will be supplied from a new hybrid (solar and wind) renewable energy project with a total installed capacity of around 170 MW, currently under development by Serentica Renewables. Torrent Power Ltd announced that it has acquired full equity control over two related entities – Newzone India Pvt Ltd (NZIPL) and Newzone Power Projects Pvt Ltd (NZPPPL) – for a total consideration of Rs.211 crore. NZPPPL now becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary and NZIPL, a step-down wholly-owned subsidiary, of Torrent Power. NZIPL has 922 acres of land in Annupur district of Madhya Pradesh, which is the only asset in the company and NZPPPL. ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has secured domestic funding of Rs.1,100 crore for its subsidiary to refinance the existing debt and reduce financing cost by around 100 bps for its 300-MW renewable energy project in Rajasthan. This project has an operational track record of about six months and consistently maintaining optimum CUF levels. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone of SJVN’s 200-MW Solar Power Project (GUVNL Phase – XVII, Khavda Solar Park) at Khavda, Gujarat, on September 20, 2025. The 200-MW Khavda solar power project is situated in Khavda Solar Park being developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) in Kachchh district of Gujarat. NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has informed that part capacity of 100 MW (Lot-6) (cumulative 400 MW) out of total 500 MW plant capacity of IRCON Renewable Power Ltd (IRPL) achieved commercial operation on September 17, 2025. With this, the total installed capacity of NGEL Group has risen to 7372.575 MW. IRPL is a joint venture between IRCON International Ltd (equity stake: 76 per cent) and Ayana Renewable Power Pvt Ltd (equity stake: 24 per cent). Ayana Renewable was recently acquired by ONGC NTPC Green Pvt Ltd, in which NTPC Green Energy Ltd holds 50 per cent stake. The remaining 50 per cent is held by ONGC Green Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ONGC Ltd. Adani Power Ltd, on September 13, 2025, signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd (BSPGCL) for supply of 2,400 MW of power from a 3×800-MW greenfield ultra-supercritical plant to be set up at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Adani Power, having won the project by offering supply rate at Rs.6.075 per KWh, plans to invest approximately $3 billion to build the plant and its supporting infrastructure, under the DBFOO model. Adani Power Ltd has been awarded a total capacity of 1,600 MW by MP Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) under the recently-concluded tendering process. APL has now received a letter of award from MPPMCL, awarding 800 MW additional capacity under the greenshoe option. This is in addition to APL’s earlier win of 800 MW in the same bidding process. This is the fifth major power supply order received by the company in the last 12 months, taking the total awarded capacity to 7,200 MW. Backed by central and state government support, and in collaboration with Renesas and Stars Microelectronics, CG Semi is investing over Rs.7,600 crore over five years to develop two facilities — G1 and G2 — in Sanand, Gujarat. The G1 facility, now inaugurated, will operate at a peak capacity of approximately 0.5 million units per day. Meenakshi Energy Ltd (MEL), a subsidiary of Vedanta Ltd, announced the full operationalization of its 1,000 MW thermal power plant, comprising two units of 350 MW and two units of 150 MW, located at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. WattPower has announced a major partnership with Avaada to deliver 715 MW of renewable energy. WattPower has already delivered 452 MWp under the state’s flagship MSKVY (Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana) initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on August 25, 2025, inaugurated power distribution projects worth Rs.1,000 crore in Gujarat. To be implemented by Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL) under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, these projects, spread over in Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Gandhinagar, are directed towards reducing losses, modernizing the network and strengthening infrastructure. Bharat Bijlee Ltd said that the company’s board, on August 25, 2025, approved additional capex of Rs.65 crore to enhance the transformer manufacturing capacity at the Airoli works from 28,000 MVA to 35,000 MVA. The capacity expansion is expected to commission in 12 months, and is aimed at catering to growing demand for transformers, the communication said. It may be noted that on May 17, 2024, the board of Bharat Bijlee had approved capex of Rs.170 crore to enhance production capacity of transformers at the Airoli works from 18,000 MVA to 28,000 MVA, with an envisaged completion timeframe of 21 months. SAEL Industries Ltd has signed 25-year PPAs for solar PV power projects aggregating 880 MW (AC), including 400 MW in Punjab and 480 MW in Gujarat. Both the projects are expected to commission in 24 months. The PPAs were signed with Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd, respectively, at tariffs of Rs.2.97 per kwh and Rs.2.56 per kwh, SAEL said in a release. KEC International Ltd has reported the winning of new orders worth Rs.1,042 crore in the domestic and overseas markets. The power T&D-related orders include a 765kV transmission line project in India and supply of towers, hardware and poles to the Americas. The cable business has secured domestic and overseas orders, KEC said, adding that these orders have taken the company’s FY26 cumulative order inflows (up to August 17, 2025) to over Rs.8,400 crore. ACME Hybrid Urja Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ACME Solar Holding Ltd, has secured long-term project financing of Rs.3,184 crore from REC Ltd for the development & construction of a 280-MW Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy Project (FDRE), contracted with NHPC. REC will serve as the sole lender for this project, providing long-term financing for 18 years. Oswal Pumps Ltd announced that it has received a letter of empanelment/letter of award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd for supplying 14,787 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) under the PM Kusum B Scheme “Magel Tyala Saur Krishi Pump” Yojna. Adani Power Ltd has received a letter of intent (LoI) from Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) to supply 2,274 MW power to North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (SBPDCL) from a 2,400 MW thermal power project to be developed at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district, Bihar. Adani Power was the lowest bidder in a tender process, with the final supply price of Rs.6.075 per KWh. As part of the contract, APL will supply power from a greenfield 3×800 MW ultra-supercritical power plant, to be set up under the DBFOO model. The first unit will be commissioned within 48 months, and the last one within 60 months of the appointed date. (August 7, 2025)
The Electronics & Information Technology Department, Government of Odisha, has approved fiscal support for Phase-1 for RIR Power Electronics Ltd towards its Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor manufacturing facility in Odisha. This project was approved by the State-Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) and the state cabinet last fiscal with a total project cost of around Rs.618 crore for both Phase-1 and Phase-2. Of the total project cost of Rs.618 crore, the capital expenditure incurred so far is around Rs.65 crore and the project is eligible for government capital subsidy of Rs.32 crore. (August 7, 2025)

The order, awarded by a European Fortune 500 engineering company, will be executed over the next 12 months from the company’s Sangli facilities in Maharashtra. Current limiting reactors are critical to managing short-circuit currents in high-density transmission networks. As renewable energy integration expands across North America, the electrical grid is witnessing significantly elevated fault levels. Vikram Solar has announced an order for supply of 250 MW of high-efficiency solar modules from the Bondada Group. The modules will be deployed for a project in Maharashtra and the delivery is scheduled to begin in the current fiscal year, FY26. Suzlon Group has secured an order from Zelestra India and its affiliates for Zelestra’s first FDRE project in India. Suzlon will be supplying 127 of Suzlon’s S144 turbines for the 381-MW project that will be spread across Maharashtra (180 MW), Madhya Pradesh (180 MW), and Tamil Nadu (21 MW). The project is a part of SJVN’s FDRE bid in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, while the Tamil Nadu portion will serve C&I power consumers. (August 1, 2025)

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd has signed an MoU with Magna Yuma Pvt Ltd, a battery swapping service provider, for augmenting and setting up of electric vehicle battery swapping stations across its operational areas. As per the agreement, Tata Power-DDL will provide dedicated space for establishing battery swapping stations, while Magna Yuma Pvt Ltd will be responsible for designing, procuring, installing, and maintaining these stations. Juniper Green Energy Ltd announced that its subsidiary Juniper Green Bess Two Pvt Ltd has signed a 25-year PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for a 100-MW wind project. The project will be located in Gujarat and is scheduled to begin supplying power from July 2027. Juniper Green Energy has also received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from GUVNL for the development of an additional 50-MW wind power project, following Juniper’s successful bid under GUVNL’s wind tender issued in January 2025. Adani Power Ltd (APIL) has completed the acquisition and resolution plan implementation of Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd. (VIPL) for an aggregate consideration of Rs.4,000 crore. VIPL is a 2×300-MW domestic coal-fired power plant located in Butibori, Nagpur district, Maharashtra. APL’s operating capacity ha risen to 18,150 MW with this acquisition. APL is further undertaking the expansion of its base-load power generation portfolio and has targeted to be India’s largest private base-load power generation company with 30,670 MW of operational capacity by 2030, APL said in a release. Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has newly released guidelines for setting up of automatic weather stations (AWS) for measurement of critical meteorological parameters for accurate, real-time measurement of weather to enable optimization of renewable energy (RE) generation. These guidelines aim seek to improve overall generation predictability, efficiency, enhance grid reliability and ensure regulatory compliance. JSW Energy announced that during Q1FY26, the company added a total of 1.9 GW of power generation capacity, including organic and inorganic sources. As of June 30, 2025, the company’s total operational capacity was 12,760 MW (or 12.8 GW), out of which renewables had a share of 56 per cent. This RE capacity included 3,554 MW of wind, 2,157 MW of solar and 1,391 MW of hydropower. Waaree Renewable Energy Technologies Ltd has received an order valued at Rs.26.17 crore from an unnamed construction company for setting up a ground-mounted solar power project of 21 MW(AC)/29.4 MW(DC) capacity. Hartek, in a release, said that it has been awarded a Rs.138-crore contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The contract relates to putting up a 400kV AIS substation package “SS-66T” associated with an ISTS scheme “Transmission system for integration of Davanagere/Chitradurga and Bellary REZ in Karnataka” that PGCIL is developing under the TBCB framework. The scope of work involves design, engineering, procurement construction, testing at the manufacturer’s works, supply (including transportation and insurance), unloading, storage, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 400kV AIS substation. INOXGFL Group announced that Inox Clean Energy Ltd’s RE IPP arm, Inox Neo Energies Pvt Ltd, has completed the acquisition of Skypower Solar India Pvt Ltd, which has a portfolio comprising 50 MW (AC) / 57.5 MW (DC) of solar power assets located in Madhya Pradesh. The transaction values the asset at an enterprise value of around Rs.265 crore. The new EN 182-5.0MW turbine offers 181-m rotor diameter, 105.56 m hub height , 89-m blade with tubular steel tower, received Type Certificate IEC61400-22:2010 from DNV valid till February 16, 2026. The RLMM approval from MNRE is mandatory for any OEM to sell wind turbine in India. Suzlon has secured its third successive order from AMPIN, this time for a 170.1-MW project to be developed in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. As part of the contract, Suzlon will supply 54 of its advanced S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. Chennai-based Supreme Power Equipment Ltd (SPEL) has been awarded a Rs.8.80-crore order by KPTCL Projects for supply of four 20 MVA, 66/11kV transformers to be supplied within five months. SPEL has also reported the winning of another domestic order worth Rs.7.56 crore for supply of 25 inverter transformers ranging from 1250 kVA/33kV to 6000 kVA/33kV from an undisclosed solar power producer. Volks Energie has bagged an order of undisclosed value from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) for commissioning a solar photovoltaic system equipped with Li-Ion battery storage for BPCL’s Irugur-Devangonthi Pipeline project, traversing Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The project features solar photovoltaic systems integrated with advanced Li-Ion battery storage that provides off-grid power backup for pipeline control stations and operational infrastructure. SEPC Ltd has received a letter of award for an EPC Contract worth Rs.650 crore from Parmeshi Urja Ltd, a subsidiary of Kolkata-based India Power Corporation Ltd. The contract involves the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 133-MW solar power project, including all associated civil and structural works. It will span four districts in Maharashtra—Sambhaji Nagar, Dhule, Solapur, and Nanded—and is being implemented under the PM-KUSUM Yojana. Torrent Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Ltd has emerged as successful bidder under competitive bidding and has received Letter of Award from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on June 11, 2025 for setting up of 300 MW Wind power project under “Wind Tranche-XVIII”. The project, with a tariff of Rs.3.97 per unit is to be commissioned within 24 months from the date of execution of the PPA, with an estimated investment of about Rs.2,650 crore, Torrent Power said in a release. NTPC Ltd announced that Unit-3 of 660 MW of its North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (3×660-MW) in Jharkhand has successfully completed trial operations and consequently has been included in the installed capacity of NTPC Ltd. (IREDA) has raised Rs.2,005.90 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) of 12.15 crore equity shares at a price of Rs.165.14 per share, which includes a premium of Rs.155.14 per share of face value Rs.10. The QIP received encouraging response from both domestic and foreign qualified institutional buyers, resulting in bids amounting to Rs.2,005.90 crore against the base issue size of Rs.1,500 crore. Scheduled to complete within FY26, the order includes engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of the solar plant, along with the development of a 33/220kV pooling substation. Torrent Power Ltd has signed a long-term Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with BP Singapore Pte. Limited, a subsidiary of global integrated energy company bp, for supply of up to 0.41 MMTPA of LNG from 2027 to 2036. The LNG procured under this agreement will be strategically utilized by TPL, including to operate its 2,730-MW combined cycle gas-based power plants in India, and will will also support the Torrent Group’s city gas distribution (CGD) business, a release from Torrent Power said. Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with AMPIN Energy Utility One Pvt Ltd. Under the terms of the PPA, IMFA will source 40 MW of contracted demand through a hybrid renewable energy solution, comprising 58 MW AC of solar and 58 MW of wind capacity. REC Ltd has successfully raised Rs.5,635 crore through private placement of bonds. The offering included Rs.3,000 crore through 2-years, 8-month bonds at coupon of 6.52 per cent and Rs.2,635 crore through 10-year, 11-month bonds at coupon of 6.81 per cent. The bond issuance witnessed an overwhelming response from market participants and the bonds have been assigned a “AAA” rating by prominent credit rating agencies, REC said in a release. Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) recorded all-time low transmission losses of 2.60 per cent in FY25, bettering the target of 2.77 per cent set by the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission. In FY23 and FY24, such losses stood at 2.61 per cent. A release by MPPTCL observed that this reduction in losses was possible due to MPPTCL’s adoption of advanced technologies like the SCADA system, as well as continuous monitoring of power grids and ensuring timely maintenance. Senvion India has announced the conversion of its previously conditional agreement with Continuum Green Energy for the 4.2M160 wind turbine generator (WTGs). Originally signed in September 2024, the conditional order included 50 confirmed turbines and an additional 50 optional turbines, all of which are now fully committed. The order value for 100 units adds up to a total capacity of 420 MW. Adani Group and Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) of Bhutan have signed an MoU to jointly develop 5,000 MW of hydropower projects in Bhutan. The PHSPPA is for supply of energy storage capacity for a period of 40 years where the company will be entitled to receive a fixed capacity charge of Rs.77.2 lakh per MW per year. Senvion India has secured a repeat order from KP Energy Ltd for 20 wind turbine generators (WTGs) of its 4XM platform, the 4.2M160 turbine. Inox Wind Ltd announced that the execution of the 990-MW turnkey order out of the 1,500 MW framework agreement signed is in full swing across multiple locations in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Suzlon has secured a 100.8-MW EPC wind power order from Sunsure Energy, marking their maiden foray into wind energy. The project is set to be executed in Maharashtra’s Jath region. Under this agreement Suzlon will supply 48 units of its S120 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with hybrid lattice towers (HLT), each rated at a 2.1 MW capacity. Serentica Renewables has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC Ltd for the supply of 200 MW of firm dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) to Uttar Pradesh’s distribution companies. Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) in FY25 commissioned 456 ckm of new extra high-tension lines taking the state’s total power transmission network to 42,520 ckm. Further, the state’s total transformation capacity increased to 81,911 MVA as of March 31, 2025, from 79,815 MVA as of corresponding date of 2024. In FY25, MPPTCL energized a total of 46 new power transformers. The issue will have a base size of Rs.1,500 crore with a greenshoe option of Rs.4,500 crore. ANDRITZ has been awarded a GIS package mandate by NHPC Ltd for the latter’s Teesta-V hydroelectric project in Sikkim. The contract, signed in January 2025 but recently announced by ANDRITZ, involves supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of 420kV GIS, 400 kV Pot yard, and 400 kV XLPE cables along with auxiliaries. The foundation stone for NTPC’s Sipat-III (1×800-MW) thermal power project in Chhattisgarh was laid at the hands on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on March 30, 2025. To be set up with an investment of Rs.9,791 crore and with supercritical technology, this project will provide electricity to Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa, apart from home state Chhattisgarh. On commissioning, the total capacity at NTPC’s Sipat thermal power station will stand enhanced to 3,780 MW. (March 31, 2025)
The board of directors of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), on March 28, 2025, approved an investment of Rs.673.08 crore for procurement of six 397 MVA converter transformers for the Talcher-Kolar HVDC link. NHPC announced that it has completed trial runs on Unit-3 of 200 MW of its 4×200-MW Parbati hydropower project in Himachal Pradesh on March 26, 2025, thereby completing trial runs on two out of the four units. Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE) has received the letter of acceptance (LoA) for 300-MW solar plus storage project from NHPC. The project is part of NHPC’s 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar power projects tender with 600 MW/1200 MW energy storage systems. JIRE has bagged 300 MW of solar power capacity (including 120 MW greenshoe option), on BOO basis, from NHPC at a tariff of Rs 3.09 per kwh. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL) have signed an agreement to develop electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping stations across DDA sports complexes in the city. As part of the agreement, DDA will provide adequate vacant land at identified locations within its sports complexes. Eco Crew seeks to reach over 5 lakh students across 1,000 schools in Uttar Pradesh, covering 24 towns, including key locations like Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Meerut, Agra and Kanpur. CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd (CG) has entered into a long-term supply agreement with Kinet Railway Solutions Ltd for supply and servicing of railway products including propulsion kits with motors, transformers and various other items. As part of this agreement, the first purchase order, ranging between Rs.400 crore to Rs.450 crore, has been secured by CG for the supply of railway products for 10 Vande Bharat trainsets. Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd (SEIL) said that it would be increasing its RMU (ring main unit) manufacturing capacity by 25 per cent, taking it to around 32,000 functions. Towards this, the SEIL board approved a capital expenditure plan of around Rs.15.8 crore, which would be met through internal accruals and borrowings. The capacity expansion plan is likely to be completed by end of June 2026. SEIL’s current RMU capacity is around 25,600 functions and is operating at around 90 per cent. Suzlon has secured an order of 204.75 MW from Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt Ltd under which Suzlon will supply 65 units of S144 wind turbine generators with hybrid lattice towers, each rated at 3.15 MW. The energy generated will be utilized for captive consumption in steel plants located in Chhattisgarh and Odisha. This is the third order for Suzlon from the same customer taking the total order size to 907.20 MW, making it the company’s largest C&I order. (March 4, 2025)
Recyclekaro has announced a major expansion of its operations, increasing its total recycling capacity to 24,000 tonnes annually at its facility in Palghar, near Mumbai. This expansion significantly boosts Recyclekaro’s e-waste recycling capacity from 7,500 tonnes to 24,000 tonnes per year and battery recycling capacity from 4,200 tonnes to 10,000 tonnes per year, a company release said. GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL) has reported the winning of an additional order worth Rs.273.50 crore from Greenko KA01 IREP Pvt Ltd. The order entails engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply, installation and testing of electromechanical equipment for one additional unit of 320-MW for the Saundatti pumped storage project (PSP) in Karnataka. The original order, worth Rs.863.40 crore, was placed by the same client for the same project, and was associated with various works corresponding to 1,280 MW of capacity. Bisleri International Pvt Ltd has partnered with Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Business to enhance energy efficiency and expand the use of renewable energy. As part of the partnership, up to 13.6 MW of solar power will be installed across six major Bisleri International plants in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. Waaree Group announced that it conducted the ground-breaking ceremony of its proposed advanced alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad, Gujarat, on February 10, 2025. The facility will have an initial production capacity of 300 MW. GREW Solar has announced that it would invest Rs.3,000 crore in putting up a manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh to produce 3 GW of solar cells annually. The plant is expected to come up on a 60-acre land expanse at Narmadapuram, near Bhopal. Meanwhile, GREW Solar recently started operations at the second unit of the Jaipur plant in Rajasthan, and has also started construction on the third. Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd (GPIL) said that steel billets manufactured by the company have been approved by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for use by all manufacturers of galvanized steel structures for power transmission projects of PGCIL. Earlier, GPIL used to source billets from other leading steel producers including Steel Authority of India Ltd. GPIL also supplies galvanized fabricated steel structures to PGCIL and it is today the only Indian company that has the entire production value chain from iron ore to finished product. MP Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has installed and charged a power transformer of 200 MVA capacity at the 220kV Pithampur Sector -III substation in Dhar district. It is the first 200-MVA capacity power transformer in the said district. The project was awarded to Apraava Energy as part of the Tranche VIII wind tender sponsored by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The board of Exide Industries Ltd has decided to inject Rs.300 crore by way of equity in its wholly-owned subsidiary Exide Energy Solutions Ltd (EESL), Exide said in a stock exchange filing. KEC International Ltd has secured new orders of Rs.1,445 crore with respect to domestic power T&D projects. The orders include those from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for ± 800kV HVDC and 400kV transmission lines. NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) has emerged as a successful bidder in an e-reverse auction conducted by NHPC Ltd. Consequently, NTPC REL secured a capacity of 300 MW at a tariff of Rs.3.09 per unit. In line with the Request for Selection (RFS) conditions, the project will include the establishment of an energy storage system (ESS) with capacity of 150MW/300MWh, ensuring enhanced reliability and efficiency of the solar power generation. Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL), along with its international subsidiaries, has received new orders worth Rs.2,038 crore, including mandates in the domestic and international power T&D segment. ACME Solar Holdings Ltd (ASHL), through its wholly-owned subsidiaries ACME Deoghar Solar Power Pvt Ltd and ACME Phalodi Solar Energy Pvt Ltd, has commissioned the remaining capacity of 47 MW and 39.95 MW, respectively, on January 23, 2025. These two plants, both in Rajasthan, are now fully commissioned to rated capacity of 300 MW each. With this, ASHL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 2,540 MW. Suzlon Group has received an order from Torrent Power to supply 162 units of S144 wind turbine generators (WTG) with hybrid lattice towers, each rated at 3 MW, for deployment in the Bhogat region of Gujarat. This 486-MW order has taken Suzlon’s cumulative WTG order inflow from Torrent Power to 1 GW, a release by Suzlon Group said. (January 24, 2025)
Saatvik Green Energy Ltd has been awarded two solar EPC contracts by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (HPPCL). Aggregating 23 MW of installed capacity, these contracts include a 11-MW solar project in Lamlehri Upperli and a 12-MW solar project in Gondpur Bulla, both in Una district. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has acquired 77,30,225 equity shares hitherto held by IL&FS Energy Development Company Ltd (IEDCL) in Cross Border Power Transmission Company Ltd (CPTCL). With this, PGCIL’s shareholding in CPTCL has risen to 42 per cent. Incorporated in December 2006, CPTCL is a joint venture between PGCIL, IEDCL, SJVN Ltd and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to implement the Indian portion of 400kV double-circuit Muzaffapur-Dhalkebar Indo-Nepal cross border power transmission line. Surana Power & Telecom Ltd has received a letter of award as solar power developer from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for building solar PV stations aggregating 54 MW (AC) at various locations in Maharashtra. The project is part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 scheme, which is part of Component C of PM-KUSUM Yojana. The solar power plants will be built over a period of 18 months, and the overall contract, valued at Rs.190 crore, also includes a 25-year O&M mandate. Hartek Group’s C&I rooftop solar business unit has won complete solar EPC contract of 8-MW from Kandhari Beverages Pvt Ltd, a bottling plant of Hindustan Coca Cola. This will become Jammu & Kashmir’s largest rooftop solar installation, a Hartek Group release said, adding that the project is under execution and will be commissioned this quarter. REC Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Gandhigram Rural Institute under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. REC has committed financial assistance of Rs.8.44 crore for establishing a 1-MW multi-technology ground mounted, grid connected solar photovoltaic power plant for the benefit of students, research scholar at the Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI), Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has commissioned 110 MW of new solar power generation capacity – 60 MW at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and 50 MW at Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh. The tender, aimed at the “Selection of Solar Power Developers for Setting up 2,000 MW ISTS-connected Solar PV Power Projects in India under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding,” was conducted on January 3, 2025. REC Ltd has disbursed loans worth Rs.54,692 crore during Q3 (October to December) of FY25, up 17.98 per cent year-on-year. The quantum of renewable energy loan disbursements grew 58.09 per cent year-on-year to reach Rs.6,314 crore in Q3FY25. For the nine months (April to December) period of FY25, REC disbursed total loans amounting to Rs.1,45,647 crore, which is higher by 19.30 per cent compared to Rs.1,22,089 crore disbursed in corresponding period of FY24.Of this, renewable energy loans aggregated Rs.17,612 crore, up 78.68 per cent year-on-year.
