Skipper Ltd has recorded its all-high outstanding order book position, at Rs.8,520.5 crore, as of June 30, 2025.
In an investor presentation, Skipper said that this order book was dominated by the power T&D sector with a share of 76 per cent. The domestic non-power T&D sector (including railways, telecom, solar, water EPC and other steel structural items) accounted for 14 per cent of the order book with exports making up the remaining 10 per cent.
Order inflows
PGCIL placed three 765kV transmission line mandates in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh on Skipper during Q1FY26.
“We are especially encouraged by the unprecedented momentum in the power transmission & distribution (T&D) sector, which has emerged as a powerful multi-decade growth opportunity—both in India and globally. The accelerating energy transition, massive grid modernization, and rising investments in renewables and cross-border interconnections are driving a structural upswing in T&D capex across key markets. Our business is perfectly aligned to capitalize on this shift,” noted Sharan Bansal, Director, Skipper Ltd.
Skipper is targeting total order inflow of over Rs.6,500 crore during FY26, with 25 per cent expected from global markets.
Capacity expansion
With respect to transmission tower manufacturing, Skipper commissioned an additional 75,000 tonnes per year capacity that will enable the company to target fast-track export orders and short-cycle demand. Skipper’s current transmission tower manufacturing capacity stands at 3,75,000 tonnes per year and is spread across three units — all located in Kolkata.
Further capacity expansion of 75,000 tonnes per year has been planned with capital expenditure of Rs.250 crore, taking the total capacity to 4,50,000 tonnes per year. Skipper has targeted 6,00,000 tonnes per year capacity by FY28, which could potentially place the company as the world’s largest transmission tower manufacturer.
Business divisions
Skipper Ltd has three business divisions – engineering products, infrastructure, and polymer. Power T&D-related activities fall under the first two.
