Sterlite Power secures new orders worth Rs.1,400 crore in Q4 of FY23

Sterlite Power has secured multiple new orders worth around Rs.1,400 crore across its ‘Solutions’ business during the fourth quarter (Q4: January to March) of FY23.  The “Solutions” business caters to products and specialized EPC.

In a release, Sterlite Power said that these new orders in Q4 have taken the company’s total order inflow for the Solutions business in FY23 to Rs.5,200 crore.

 

Exciting times for power T&D

Upgrade and Uprate orders

Sterlite Power’s pioneering upgrade/uprate solutions are designed to tackle the new age challenges of urban evolution, evolving demographics, and expanding renewables, faced by the Indian power ecosystem.

The company has secured a major order from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) to upgrade/uprate its 400kV Jharsuguda/Sundargarh – Rourkela line, part of the larger Eastern Region Expansion Scheme – XXIX, to deploy its state-of-the-art reconductoring solution. This will significantly help in unlocking the latent potential capacity of the existing Transmission corridor by 1.5 times, while reducing the additional Right of Way.

In addition, Sterlite Power would be building 220kV double circuit transmission lines for Serentica Renewables, the group’s renewable energy arm. The company will build the transmission corridors that will enable evacuation of renewable energy from the upcoming solar and wind parks in Rajasthan and Karnataka, to the national grid.

 

Conductors and OPGW orders

In Product manufacturing, the company has bagged major orders for conductors and OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) from eminent customers in the SAARC region. Orders include the prestigious Power Grid Corporation of Bangladesh’s river crossing project from Transrail as well as repeat orders from USA and LATAM region. The company also continues to strengthen its presence in the Nordic region by acquiring new orders from Nordic utilities. In addition, Sterlite Power has secured significant orders to supply conductors from notable domestic customers like Tata Power, L&T as well as international customers like Henan Pinggao. The company will be supplying for Tata Power’s NRSS XXXVI project, and L&T’s 400KV Wayanad-Kasargode transmission line.

For OPGW, orders were received from L&T for its 765kV Navasari – Padghe transmission corridor as well as MTCIL (Maharashtra Transmission Communication Infrastructure Ltd) for its 132kV, 220kV and 400kV transmission lines. The business will also execute critical orders for cabling work in India and overseas including supply of cables for Chennai Metro Phase II, Indore, and Bhopal Metro projects, the release said.
