Transrail Lighting Ltd closed Q1FY27 with an unexecuted order book of Rs.16,035 crore, as of June 30, 2026, inclusive of L1 positions of around Rs.400 crore.
In the first quarter of FY27 (Q1: April to June), Transrail witnessed new order inflow of Rs.1,034 crore, dominated by power T&D, to the extent of 88 per cent. The remaining 12 per cent was distributed among the Pole & Lighting and Civil businesses.
From a geographical perspective, the company’s Q1FY27 order inflows had international projects to the tune of 63 per cent in value terms. Incidentally, Transrail Lighting recently entered the Australian market with a monopole project, thereby expanding its presence across six continents.
On the other hand, domestic orders had a larger share of 59 per cent in Transrail’s unexecuted order book of Rs.15,635 crore (excluding L1 positions), as of June 30, 2026.
Reinforcing growth strategy
Commenting on the company’s performance in Q1FY27, Randeep Narang, MD & CEO, Transrail Lighting Ltd, noted, “We have started FY27 by maintaining resilient financial performance amidst a dynamic geopolitical and economic environment. The commissioning of our Butibori facility at Nagpur along with augmentation of our other plants have resulted in doubling of our tower manufacturing capacity which we are further expanding. Every investment we are making today from manufacturing expansion to execution capabilities and global market development, is aimed at strengthening our position and enhancing our ability to deliver large scale complex infrastructure projects. Supported by a strong order book, strengthened capacities, robust financials and sustained demand across domestic and international markets, we are confident that FY27 will further reinforce our trajectory of profitable growth and long-term value creation for all our stakeholders.”
Capacity expansion
In Q1FY27, Transrail fully commissioned its new tower manufacturing facility at Butibori near Nagpur, Maharashtra. By the end of Q2FY27, Transrail is expected to have total tower manufacturing capacity of 196,000 tonnes per annum (tpa), which is twice the capacity that existed before the greenfield (Butibori) and brownfield expansion plans were launched.
Butibori has become Transrail’s third tower manufacturing facility after those in Deoli (Maharashtra) and Vadodara (Gujarat).
Meanwhile, the company’s conductor manufacturing capacity is expected to more than double from 24,000 km per year to 49,500 km per year by end of Q3FY27 (December 31, 2026). Transrail manufactures conductors at its Silvassa unit in the UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNH&DD).
In a related development, on May 26, 2026, the board of Transrail Lighting announced a capital expenditure plan of Rs.203 crore, primarily to source construction equipment.
