Transrail Lighting Ltd: Order book grows 28 per cent to touch Rs.14,733 crore

Transrail Lighting Ltd, in a release, said that its unexecuted order book, as of December 31, 2026, was up 28 per cent year-on-year, touching Rs.14,733 crore.

This order book was dominated by the power T&D sector to the tune of 92 per cent. From a geographical perspective, Transrail’s order book had a 57 per cent share from domestic projects.

Apart from the order book, the company was placed L1 with respect to orders aggregating Rs.3,483 crore, as of December 31, 2025.

This takes the confirmed order book and L1 positions, as of December 31, 2025, to Rs.18,216 crore.

 

 

Order inflow

In the first nine months (9M: April to December) of FY26, Transrail’s new order inflow stood at Rs.5,135 crore, up 9 per cent from the comparable level in 9MFY25. The share of domestic orders in the 9MFY26 order inflow was 55 per cent.

Around 89 per cent of this order inflow was from the power T&D vertical with the remaining 11 per cent distributed among three businesses – civil, railways, and poles & lighting.

 

Sustaining growth momentum

According to Randeep Narang, MD & CEO, Transrail Lighting Ltd, “We continued to see healthy order inflows during the period, led by the core Power T&D segment in India and overseas, alongside increasing traction across all verticals. Execution remained a key focus area during the period, with teams fast-tracking priority projects and maintaining strong delivery discipline. Our growth in Revenue and Profitability is a result of overall business processes and efficiencies. Supported by a robust order book and operational competence, I believe we is well positioned to sustain our growth momentum in the coming quarters.”

 

Projects commissioned

During 9MFY26, Transrail commissioned a number of 765kV transmission line projects in India, including those for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL). Some such included Khetri-Narela, Ahmedabad-Lakadia and Banaskantha-Ahmedabad. On the international front, Transrail completed projects in Bangladesh, Nicaragua and Eswatini (Africa), among other countries.

 

Capacity expansion

By June 2026 (end of Q1FY27), Transrail Lighting expects to have a total manufacturing capacity for transmission tower (including poles) of 1.96 lakh tonnes per annum (tpa), more than twice the current capacity of 0.84 lakh tpa.

This will be achieved by brownfield expansions at the existing facilities at Deoli (Maharashtra) and Vadodara (Gujarat), and a new transmission tower facility at Butibori in Nagpur district, Maharashtra. The greenfield facility is likely to commission by March 2026, while the brownfield expansions will be completed by June 2026.

With respect to conductors, overall manufacturing capacity is envisaged to touch 49,500 km per year from the present 24,000 km per year, through expansions at the existing Silvassa facility in the UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. This expansion plan will be commissioned in two phases – by June 2026 and September 2026, respectively.
