Waaree commissions solar power project for Maharashtra Seamless

Waaree Energies, in a release, announced that it has commissioned a solar photovoltaic project for Maharashtra Seamless Ltd (MSL).

The ground-mounted project with aggregate capacity of 21 mw has been set up at Swami Samarth Solar Park in Akkalkot, Solapur district, Maharashtra.

This plant has been developed to help MSL achieve its endeavour of going carbon-neutral, Waaree Energies said in the release.

The “open-access” solar plant will be used by MSL for meeting its captive consumption. The plant is equipped with 63,420 Waaree-make solar modules, each with 330W capacity.

Waaree was recently recognized as ‘India’s Greatest Brand’ in Solar Industry by AsiaOne for FY20. Waaree, in the release, observed that it serves over 5,000 customers globally which illustrates the trust gained by the company over a period of 32 years of its existence. Waaree has a record of executing a 50MW solar project in Vietnam in 100 working days, becoming the first Indian solar company to achieve this feat.

Waaree Energies Ltd has the country’s largest solar PV module manufacturing capacity of 2 GW. In addition, it is one of the leading players in India in EPC services, project development, rooftop solutions, solar water pumps, and as an independent power producer.
