Commtel, the global engineering, and technology company, has appointed Girish Dev as Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation (DT) Business Unit.

The company created Commtel Labs in 2019, focusing on the Research and Development of AI-powered solutions and platforms. It has now formed the AI and DT Unit to help companies operating in the critical national infrastructure (CNI) sectors through tailormade AI and DT solutions. It may also be mentioned that in the recent past Commtel had invested in “nybl.ai”, a knowledge-driven machine-learning platform.

Commenting on his appointment, Dev said, “The critical infrastructure sectors, especially Energy, Power, Transportation, and the Defense have been facing increasing threats of physical and cyber-attacks. Many of these sectors are also at the forefront of significant efforts towards sustainable development. To begin with, through our AI solutions, we intend to enhance the security of the physical estate of our customers besides partnering with them for implementation of their key priorities under a comprehensive digital acceleration programme.”
