SJVN awards EPC contract for Uttar Pradesh solar power project

Central PSU SJVN Ltd has contracted Noida-based Solarworld Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd as EPC contractor for SJVN’s upcoming 75-mw solar power project in Uttar Pradesh.

A release from SJVN said that the EPC contract has been awarded for the 75-mw (AC) solar power project at Prasaran Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh. The mandate also includes operations & maintenance of the solar power asset for a period of three years.

 

The EPC contract is valued at around Rs.313 crore and is expected to be completed by August 2022.

 

The project

SJVN bagged the 75-mw Prasaran solar power project, located at Tehsil Kalpi, District Jalaun near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, through competitive bidding held by Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) at a tariff of Rs.2.68 per unit for 25 years. The project is expected to annually generate 168.343 million kwh of electricity with capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 25.06 per cent.

Green portfolio

SJVN currently has 1,445 mw of solar projects under execution. He stated that all these solar projects are scheduled to be commissioned by FY24.
