Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML), the Mumbai power distribution utility of Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL), maintained reliability of supply in the first quarter (April to June) of FY23.

In a release, ATL said that supply reliability was 99.99 per cent in Q1 of FY23, maintaining its level of the same period of FY22.

Distribution loss was 6.95 per cent in Q1 of FY23, slightly higher than 6.88 per cent in Q1 of FY22, but way better the national average.

In the first quarter of FY23, AEML sold 26 per cent higher electricity than in the previous year. This reflected revival in demand by commercial and industrial consumers. In Q1 of FY23, AEML sold 2,560 MU (million units or million kwh) of electricity as against 2,036 MU in the like quarter of FY22.

Distribution losses remain low on account of high collection efficiency and loss reduction measures, the ATL release observed.
