EIL commissions 220kV switchyard at HPCL refinery

Engineers India Ltd along with HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd. (HRRL) achieved a major milestone in the Rajasthan Refinery Project with the successful commissioning of the 220kV switchyard.

The activity was achieved under a final charging milestone by energizing the 220kV double bus, power transformers and 66 kV GIS with available one incoming 220kV line of RVPNL from Balotra, 220 kV grid, an official release said.

The 220kV final charging system comprises of 220 kV double bus with other associated equipment, 160 MVA (220kV/ 66kV) power transformers (four, for refinery block), 100 MVA (220kV/ 66kV) power transformers (two, for petrochemical block) and six 66kV GIS switchboards.

The system is operated through a substation automation system (SAS) from the control room in the substation, the release said.
