KEC International: Power T&D dominates order inflow

The power T&D business has dominated the order inflows of KEC International during the current fiscal year FY24, so far.

In a release, KEC International Ltd said that its cumulative order inflow during FY24 so far, which is from April 1, 2023 to around January 30, 2024, stood at Rs.12,850 crore. Of this, power T&D accounted for a share of 61 per cent.

As of January 30, 2024, KEC International’s overall outstanding order book was Rs.30,161 crore with power T&D accounting for a share of 49 per cent.

Including L1 positions, the power T&D business had an outstanding order book of over Rs.22,000 crore, as of given date.

 

Impressive performance

Commenting on the company’s performance, Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, said, “We have delivered an impressive performance for the quarter, marked by robust revenue growth, a noteworthy increase in profitability and positive developments in working capital. The Transmission and Distribution (T&D) and Civil businesses have been the primary growth drivers. Our EBITDA margins continue to show an upward trajectory with an improvement every quarter with the margins increasing by a good 160 basis points, from 4.6 per cent in Q3FY23 to 6.2 per cent in Q3FY24. SAE Towers delivered a positive profit before tax (PBT) for the third consecutive quarter. With a record order book & L1 position of over Rs.38,000 crore and a promising tender pipeline, we are confident of concluding the year with a healthy growth.”

 

Overall order book

On a consolidated basis, KEC’s outstanding order book (excluding L1 positions) stood at Rs.30,161 crore, as of January 30, 2024. Of this, domestic orders accounted for 69 per cent and international orders, the remaining 31 per cent. The order book of KEC’s overseas subsidiary SAE Towers had a 4 per cent share in KEC’s overall order book.

The broad verticals under which KEC International operates are: power T&D, civil, railways, cables, oil & gas and solar power.
