Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has won a Rs.8,000-crore order for supplying the BTG (boiler, turbine-generator) package for Mahagenco’s Koradi thermal power project in Maharashtra.

In a stock exchange communication, BHEL said that it has received a letter of award from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco), the state power generation utility, for supplying the BTG package for two thermal power generation units of 660-MW each of the Koradi thermal power station in Maharashtra.

These two units will be Unit-11 and Unit-12 of the Koradi power plant located in Nagpur district, Maharashtra.

The order valued at approximately Rs.8,000 crore (excluding GST) was won through domestic competitive bidding, BHEL said.

The scope of the order includes supply of equipment, erection and commissioning, along with civil works of the BTG package. The first unit (Unit-11) is scheduled for completion in 52 months, followed by Unit-12 six months thereafter.
