PUREhas announced the launch of battery-based 5 MWh grid storage product, PuREPower Grid, in Delhi.
This innovative product is poised to transform India’s energy infrastructure, empowering grid stability and accelerating the integration of renewable energy sources.
Engineered as a 5-MWh containerized product which has in-built solar and PCS, PuREPower Grid has already garnered significant industry validation, with PURE receiving expressions of interest (EOIs) from over 10 leading renewable energy EPC players and large industries, a company release said.
PURE is set to invest Rs.400 crore in the next 18 – 36 months in energy storage products to expand battery and Power electronics production and in-house firmware capabilities, boosting its capacity to 2.5 GWh from the current 250 MWh. This expansion, funded through equity and debt, builds on the over Rs.100 crore invested in R&D, plant setup, and battery manufacturing. PURE has also filed over 120 IPs, highlighting its commitment to innovation.
Demand for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in India is surging with a market projected to reach over $36 billion by the end of this decade, driven by the nation’s commitment to integrating its ambitious 500 GW of renewable energy and a need for over 200 GWh of BESS by 2030.
