Transrail Lighting commissions greenfield plant at Butibori, tower mfg capacity more than doubles

Transrail Lighting Ltd announced that it has commissioned its greenfield tower manufacturing facility at Butibori in Nagpur district, Maharashtra.
In a brief stock exchange filing, Transrail said that apart from the Butibori plant, brownfield expansions at the existing facilities at Deoli (Maharashtra), Vadodara (Gujarat) and Silvassa (UT of DNH&DD) have also been partially completed.
With these expansions, the company’s overall transmission tower manufacturing capacity has more than doubled from 84,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) to 1,72,400 tpa.
According to information previously released by the company, once the ongoing brownfield expansions are fully complete, the overall tower manufacturing capacity (including poles) would grow to 1,96,000 tpa.
Transrail Lighting is also in the midst of expanding its conductor manufacturing capacity from 24,000 km per year to 49,500 km per year. This expansion would be through a two-phase brownfield expansion at its Silvassa plant, likely to be completed by September 2026.
