ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has received a letter of award from Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) for a contract capacity of 300 MW under SECI’s FDRE-IX tender.

In a stock exchange communication, ACME Solar Holdings said that it has secured a 300-MW assured peak power project under SECI’s tender for “Selection of RE Power Developers for assured peak supply of 6,000 MWh (1,500 MW x 4 hours) from ISTS-Connected RE Projects in India, under tariff-based competitive bidding (SECI-FDRE-IX).”

The project, to be set up anywhere in the country, is expected to commence supply within 18 months of signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI, the communication said, adding that the project was secured at a tariff of Rs.6 per kWh that will hold for the entire PPA duration of 25 years.

SECI had floated the said request for selection (RfS) tender in June 2026 with an envisaged capacity of 4,800 MWh (1,200 MW x 4 hours), which was later expanded to 6,000 MWh (1,500 MW x 4 hours).

Under this RfS, the RE power developer (RPD) shall be required to set up ISTS-connected RE power project(s) with energy storage system (ESS), including the transmission network up to the interconnection/delivery point with the primary objective of supplying RE power to SECI, at its own cost and as per the provisions of the RfS and PPA.

Identification of land, installation and ownership of the project(s), along with obtaining connectivity and necessary approvals and interconnection with the ISTS network/STU or InSTS network (as applicable) for supply of power to SECI, will be under the scope of the RPD, the RfS document had indicated.

In an independent development, Waaree Forever Energies Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd, also received a letter of award (LoA) from SECI for development of 700 MW solar and 700 MW/2,800 MWh energy storage solution (ESS) RE power project at Solapur in Maharashtra. This LoA related to the same SECI-FDRE-IX tender and, according to unconfirmed reports, Waaree’s tariff quote was Rs.5.99 per kWh.

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC-REL) secured 500 MW at a tariff of Rs.6 per kWh, taking the total allotted capacity under SECI-FDRE-IX to 1,950 MW against the 1,500 MW on offer.
