Apart from power T&D, its forte, KEC International has bagged new orders in the urban infra area, and its first mandate in the warehouse segment.

Infrastructure EPC company KEC International has reported the winning of new orders aggregating Rs.1,192 crore across various business segments.

In its traditional forte—power T&D—KEC International has clinched orders worth Rs.821 crore from India, SAARC countries, Malaysia, Africa and the Americas.

KEC“We are pleased with the new order wins secured amidst global uncertainties. Our T&D order book continues to grow on the backdrop of orders secured across various geographies. We are particularly enthused by the second order win from Kochi Metro which enables us to further strengthen our presence in the Urban Infra sector. The entry of our civil business in the warehouse space opens up a large opportunity for us in this growing area,” notes Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, on the current orders.

Its cables business has landed mandates worth Rs.168 crore for the supply of cables as well as for cabling projects.

In a significant development, the Urban Infra business, secured an order valued at Rs.146 crore from Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) for the construction of a viaduct along with a metro station for the Kochi Metro (Phase-1, extension) project in Kerala.

This is the second order from KMRL placed on KEC International. Its first KMRL was clinched in August 2019. It was also in that month that KEC had debuted in the metro rail sector as well as the regional rapid transit system (RRTS) space. The RRTS order, valued at Rs.580 crore, was placed by National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and related to the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor.

The civil business of KEC has landed a Rs.57-crore order for infrastructure works in the warehouse space (no further details available). This is the company’s debutant order in this segment.
