Marking its entry in the power infrastructure space in Chandigarh, Hartek Power Pvt Ltd had won an order from the UT Electricity Department (Chandigarh) for laying underground cables.

The order involves laying underground electricity cables and heavy-duty electricity wiring in Sectors 7, 9, 11 and 26, a release from Hartek Power said.

To be executed at a cost of Rs.8.05 crore and scheduled to be completed by December, the project is intended to eliminate the grave hazard posed by overhead transformers and high-tension wires that hang precariously on the edges of slip roads, road berms and parking lots in the four sectors.

The UT Electricity Department has singled out these sectors to begin with as the existing power infrastructure there is more than 50 years old, which leads to frequent breakdowns and disruptions in supply.

Besides laying an underground cable system, Hartek Power has been assigned the task of converting overhead transformers into compact underground substations as part of the project.

Speaking on the achievement, Hartek Group Chairman & Managing Director  Hartek Singh said, “This prestigious order is our stepping stone to establishing our leadership in the power infrastructure domain in Chandigarh. It is an acknowledgement of our expertise. Known for world-class quality standards and timely completion of projects, we at Hartek Group are proud to partner with the UT administration for this important undertaking.”

Role in Punjab

Hartek Group has also played an instrumental role in the smart city projects in Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar, for which it had executed an order from the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) for the supply, installation and commissioning of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) relays at 55 substations.

By equipping these substations with SCADA relays, Hartek Group maximized operational efficiency through a more responsive power system, the release noted.
