Vikram Solar has announced the expansion of its retail footprint with the entry into Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The company tied up with Express Tradecom Private Ltd (Express Tradecom) to boost the retail distribution network in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Express Tradecom is among the leading distributors for electrical products with a formidable client base in the electrical segment. This partnership with Express Tradecom will enable Vikram Solar in further strengthening distribution capabilities in Central India, Vikram Solar said in a release.

Vikram Solar’s entry into the Raipur market, further strengthens the company’s distribution network to 40 cities, ensuring availability of its solar products and solutions across 600 regions pan-India. The company intends to expand its current retail presence to about 300+ cities by end of FY21. The robust network ensures ready stocks for immediate dispatches, and after-sales support. The company’s regional warehousing capability provides an infrastructure to cater to large volumes of orders, the release said.

Saibaba Vutukuri, Chief Executive Officer, Vikram Solar said, “The Government of Chhattisgarh led upcoming fully developed smart city “Nava Raipur” and other projects will be a catalyst for high solar adoption at residential as well as commercial units.”

Major projects

Vikram Solar recently commissioned a prestigious solar project on top of the tallest skyscraper in Kolkata called ‘The 42’, a residential building. The rooftop solar plant is of 22.5 kW capacity and consists of 60 solar panels covering an area of around 116 sqm.

With the proven capacity to handle utility-scale projects (200 mw for APGENCO in Andhra Pradesh, 130 mw for NTPC at Bhadla in Rajasthan, 80 mw for GIPCL at Charanka in Gujarat, 40 mw for IL&FS at Kachaliya in Madhya Pradesh), innovative projects (India’s first floating solar), and airport installations (Calicut, Kolkata, Kochi, Dibrugarh, Gaya, and Gondia), Vikram Solar is a major contributor to the Indian solar revolution, the company release added.
