Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) fully commissioned three transmission schemes during the first quarter (Q1: April to June) of FY26, and expects to complete four more by the close of the fiscal year.
The three schemes commissioned included two interstate and one intrastate scheme, all won under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework.
The broad details of the schemes are:
This has taken AESL’s overall operational power transmission portfolio to 5,538 ckm of lines and 26,346 MVA of substation capacity, envisaging total investment of around Rs.149 billion.
As of June 30, 2025, AESL had an under-construction portfolio of 7,063 ckm of transmission lines and 47,475 MVA of substation capacity, envisaging total investment of around Rs.5,930 crore. (See table). The latest addition to AESL’s power transmission portfolio was “WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission Ltd,” an ISTS scheme that AESL won under the TBCB mode during Q1FY26. This was one of the only two ISTS-TBCB schemes that were awarded during Q1FY26. (See related story)

AESL is likely to commission four transmission schemes during the remaining part of FY26. These include three ISTS-TBCB schemes and one intrastate scheme awarded under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) modality.
The three ISTS-TBCB schemes are housed under North Karanpura Transco Ltd, WR-SR Transmission Ltd and Halvad Transmission. The fourth scheme is an intrastate-RTM scheme incorporated under Adani Electricity Mumbai Infra Ltd. Involving HVDC technology, this project will be instrumental in bringing green energy to Mumbai city.
These four schemes are expected to shore up AESL’s operational power transmission portfolio by 1,613 ckm of lines and 8,000 MVA of transformation capacity.
As of June 30, 2025, AESL’s smart metering portfolio comprised 22.8 million meters (inclusive of those installed) spread across Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand. This portfolio, with potential revenue generation of Rs.27,200 crore, is largely dominated by projects under RDSS.

During Q1FY26, the company installed 55.5 lakh smart meters, maintaining a daily rate of 25,000 – 27,000 meters. By March 31, 2026, AESL expects have an installed smart meter portfolio of over 10 million meters. The Adani Group entity also anticipates a high bidding pipeline of around 95 million smart meters.
