Adani Green Energy has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary has clinched a wind power project in a recent SECI tender.

The tender in question was floated by Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) for setting up 1,200 mw of ISTS-connected wind power project (Tranche XI), in May this year.

Adani Renewable Energy Holding Fifteen Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Ltd, had participated in this tender and has received the letter of award for setting up a 450-mw wind power project. The fixed tariff for this project capacity is Rs.2.70 per unit, for a period of 25 years.

With this, AGEL now has a total renewable energy project portfolio of 20,284 mw, out of which 5,410 mw is operational, 5,724 mw is under construction and the remaining 9,150 mw is in “near-construction” stage, in that the letter of award has been issued but the PPA signing is pending.

According to the SECI tender documents, connectivity and long-term open access (LTOA) shall be in the scope of the wind power developer.

The tender document also specifies that the scheduled commissioning date of the project (full capacity) shall be 18 months from the effective date of the power purchase agreement (PPA) or the effective date of the power sale agreement (PSA), whichever is later.

Project location: Though the location of the project is left to the wind power developer, the choice of the delivery point will be limited to seven specified 400kV substations spread over Kerala (Palakkad), Maharashtra (Kallam), Madhya Pradesh (Rajgarh), Karnataka (Gadag & Koppal) and Tamil Nadu (Karur & Tuticorin-II)

According to information available with SECI, Adani Renewable Energy Holding Fifteen Ltd has also won 300 mw of wind power capacity, at Rs.2.77 per kwh, under a similar SECI auction (Tranche-X), in March this year.
