Energy Efficiency Services Ltd has signed an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Ltd (APEPDCL) to promote the adoption of energy efficiency and enable energy conservation within the power distribution sector.

This agreement offers great advantages for consumers, including reduced energy bills, access to cutting-edge technologies, and improved customer service, a release by EESL said.

The collaboration

Under the ‘Energy Efficient Appliance Programme’, the partnership will provide a comprehensive energy efficiency solution to both residential and institutional consumers of APEPDCL. The discom portal will raise consumer awareness about the energy efficiency solutions programme through web portal, text messages, and WhatsApp. Consumers can visit the EESL Mart portal using an affiliate link sent to them via SMS, WhatsApp and monthly bills. They can also visit the discom portal to explore energy efficient appliances at EESL Mart.

On APEPDCL portal, the consumers will find appliance-specific banners attached with affiliate links and QR Codes which will redirect them to the EESL Mart webpage. Here, they can conveniently purchase a range of optimally-priced energy-efficient appliances. These include LED bulbs, 5-star rated BLDC fans, super-efficient air conditioners and more. The platform will ensure a seamless buying experience, with products delivered directly to consumers’ doorsteps and best after-sales warranty services.

According to the EESL release, APEPDCL, by signing this agreement, has become the first discom in India to take up e-retail facility for consumers.

Enhancing energy efficiency

Speaking on the signing of the agreement, Vishal Kapoor, CEO, EESL said, “We are thrilled to join forces with APEPDCL to champion energy efficiency and conservation in the power distribution sector. This partnership is poised to deliver substantial benefits to consumers, including lower energy bills and access to advanced technologies. It marks a pivotal step towards our shared vision of enhancing energy efficiency and promoting a sustainable future for India.”

Leveraging advanced technologies

Over the next three years, their collaboration will leverage advanced technologies to enhance government’s energy efficiency and conservation efforts. Through this agreement, EESL intends to scale up the deployment of Energy Efficiency initiatives, encouraging the adoption of sustainable energy practices and technologies in the power distribution sector. This will further enable the building of a network of environmentally conscious consumers which will contribute to India’s climate goals, the release said.
