BCPL Railway Infra wins smart energy meter order from WEBEL

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, said that it has won an order to supply smart energy meters to state government undertaking West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Ltd (WEBEL).

The filing noted that the order was for supply, installation, testing and commissioning of dual-source smart energy meter at four IT parks of WEBEL – BN4, BN9, Kalyani (Phase II) and Rajarhat (Phase II). The total cost of the project is Rs.10 million, the filing noted.

According to information independently available, the four IT parks discussed above are relatively new and were commissioned in the first quarter of 2021.

Commenting on the development, Aparesh Nandi, Chairman, BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd, said, “We are quite optimistic about the new project that opens up enormous opportunity in the near future for similar projects to come on pan India basis.”

“Intake of this project marks the commencement of the company’s journey towards making a mark in ‘Digital India’ campaign by setting up smart energy meters at various locations in different IT Parks and connecting them digitally, Nandi added.
