Blue Star Ltd, has won an order for electrical and mechanical works on a section of the Mumbai metro Line-3 project.

Mumbai-headquartered Blue Star, in a statement, said that it has won an order valued at Rs.149 crore for electrical & mechanical (E&M) for “Mumbai Metro Line III UGC-03” for five underground stations—Mumbai, Mahalaxmi, Science Museum, Acharya Atre Chowk and Worli.

The order was placed by Dogus-Soma JV, which in turn was awarded the EPC contract for the Mumbai Metro Line III UGC-03 package from project implementing agency Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL).

For Blue Star, this is the second major order relating to the Mumbai Metro Line III project.

Blue StarB Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd said, “This is the second significant order won by Blue Star for Mumbai Metro. We are currently executing the prestigious Mumbai Metro project for Air Conditioning and Tunnel Ventilation System of nine underground stations and associated tunnels on Line-3 corridor between Mumbai Central and Bandra. I am proud that with this order we are steadily advancing and marking our project management forte for the Metro Rail sector. Besides, with the growing population in Mumbai, metro connectivity is vital for overall infrastructure development of the city and I am happy that we are one of the companies playing a key role in this mission.”

The scope of the order placed on Blue Star involves design verification, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of E&M works including lighting control and protection systems, advanced fire detection and fire-fighting systems, plumbing systems, and SCADA, among others, for the above stated five underground stations, tunnels, crossovers, cross-passages and auxiliary buildings of Mumbai Metro Line III.
