CyanConnode India Pvt Ltd has reported the winning of its single-largest order ever.

In a release, CyanConnode announced that its Indian subsidiary CyanConnode India Pvt Ltd has received its largest order ever.

Placed by Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd, the order of unspecified value, is for 1 million “Omnimesh” modules, together with advanced metering infrastructure, standards-based hardware, Omnimesh head-end software, perpetual license and a support and maintenance contract.

The order relates to a smart metering deployment in Bihar and supply of Omnimesh Modules is expected to commence during September 2022, with installation being completed within two years.  The support and maintenance contract is for a period of eight years and will commence upon completion of the installation phase, CyanConnode said.

This single order will almost double the number of modules that CyanConnode has deployed in India to date.

Commenting on the order, John Cronin, Executive Chairman of CyanConnode, said, “We are delighted to have received this order from our long-standing partner Genus, which cements our position as the largest provider of narrowband radio frequency (RF) smart mesh networks for smart metering in India.”

“India is at the beginning of its government’s mandated deployment of 250 million smart meters and CyanConnode is pursuing current tenders for the deployment of over 27.5 million smart meters.  The company also expects the number of tenders that it is actively pursuing to grow further during the coming months.  Your Board remains determined to take full advantage of CyanConnode’s superior RF technology and to capitalise upon its opportunities in India,” Cronin added.

Big milestone

“A big milestone for CyanConnode! This order is a testament of our deep knowledge of Indian ecosystem, strengths, and technology. As always CyanConnode is committed to strengthening the Smart Metering landscape in India by bringing in the experience in executing over a million smart metering points on Omnimesh network across nine states and now into the state of Bihar. With Genus leading this initiative we are very confident this implementation of 10 lakh Omnimesh modules will be of great success,” noted Ratna Garapati, Managing Director and CEO of CyanConnode India.

New beginning

Commenting on this significant order win, Anil Daulani, President – Global Business of CyanConnode, said, “This is a new beginning of last several years of establishing our RF technology for over 10 lakh smart meters deployment and proving reliable, consistent performance to meet Indian utility requirements to bring improvements in operational, technical and consumer side. We are happy to receive this award to continue to play our lead role in upcoming large smart prepaid rollouts in India.”

Pleased to partner

“We are very pleased to once again be partnering with CyanConnode. Both companies have already worked closely together and successfully deployed four projects, resulting in the rollout of over 600,000 smart meters.  I believe our joint capability and track records will result in further opportunities for both our companies in the near future,” noted Jitendra Kumar Agarwal, Joint MD of Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd.
