Eaton inaugurated the expanded its electrical plant in Puducherry on June 14, 2023.
With this expansion, the plant aims to double the capacity of its medium voltage assembly lines while incorporating enhanced infrastructure.
According to an official Eaton release, the new block spans 40,000 sqft and is laid out with cutting-edge manufacturing lines to produce ACBs (air circuit breakers) and MCCBs (moulded case circuit breakers) to ably serve the electrical Industry deploying the state-of-the-art LEAN manufacturing concepts.
Major milestone
Commenting on the occasion, Syed Sajjadh Ali, Managing Director, India, Electrical Sector, said, “The expansion of our Electrical plant marks a major milestone in Eaton’s continued growth in India focused on strategic markets and electrical segments. This accomplishment not only demonstrates Eaton’s leadership position in the industry but also showcases our commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, operational excellence, and our relentless pursuit of enlarging our manufacturing footprint to meet evolving demands. By leveraging Industry 4.0 principles, Eaton aims to enhance process capability, optimize production efficiency, and deliver high-quality products to our valued customers.”
Centralized warehouse
The expanded area includes a centralized warehouse housing all of Eaton’s Power Distribution products, along with a customer experience center providing a unique opportunity for customers to directly engage with the products being manufactured on-site, and a space for employees for recreational activities.
