Grundfos India, one of the leading pump manufacturers in India, promoted the importance  of efficient water management systems in building smart cities at the‘3rdWater Innovation Summit 2017’. They also partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) for 12th Sustainability Summit and sponsored the “Partnership for Sustainable Water Solution” to emphasize its long-term benefits. The first event focused on “Smart Water Management: A Key Building Block of the Smart Cities & Villages of the Future” while the second event had discussions ranging from business ethics management, circular cities are smart cities, and on partnerships for sustainable water solutions.

Grundfos is one of the very few businesses that is led by principals with sustainability at its core. Smart Cities and its development is a key area of focus for Grundfos India for which the company has innovative and efficient solutions like iSolutions and Demand Driven Distribution. The 12th Sustainability Summit also focused on the Sustainable Development Goals that are to be achieved by 2030, where businesses, individuals and think-tanks will come together and chart the way forward.

With urbanization taking place at a rapid pace, the water resources in India are strained. The issue is further aggravated with no checks in place for water losses and inefficiencies in urban water utilities. This has in-turn resulted in no Indian city getting round-the-clock water supply for its citizens.
