The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), on February 25, 2026, inaugurated the 4th edition of BuildELEC alongside the 1st edition of CompELEC at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

The three-day event, being held from February 25–27, 2026 aims to provide a focused sourcing and networking platform for the building electrical and components manufacturing ecosystem.

Featuring over 160 exhibitors and nearly 1,000 structured B2B meetings with 150+ key buyers, the twin shows are designed to drive business growth, strengthen supplier networks, and accelerate industry collaboration across India’s electrical and electronics value chain.

The three-day exhibition will offer significant opportunities for both buyers and sellers to engage through dedicated buyer-seller meets, enabling meaningful business interactions and mutual growth, a release from IEEMA said.

Urgent demand: From LV to EHV

Speaking at the inaugural Chief Guest, SM Ramanathan, Director Engineering and R&D, BHEL, Delhi, said, “The BuildELEC-CompELEC event platform serves as a vital bridge for the electrical industry.” He added that power infra is growing at a tremendous pace and there is huge and urgent demand for the equipment – from low voltage (LV) to extra high voltage (EHV). “The sector requires a sustained supply of components, without which equipment cannot be completed. The component industry is therefore of utmost importance for the growth of power infrastructure.”

He congratulated IEEMA for organizing Compelec – a show for component sourcing and expressed his delight at noting that more than 150 buyers would be meeting exhibitors for one-on-one meetings over the three-days expo, in addition to visits by OEMs.

Towards $130 billion by 2030

Addressing the gathering, the President of IEEMA, Vikram Gandotra said, “Our 1,100+ members have powered the nation’s progress. We are now a $75 billion industry with $13.5 billion in exports, accelerating toward $130 billion by 2030. To reach this peak, we must strictly adhere to supply timelines while strengthening domestic manufacturing businesses and supply chains, through initiatives like Buildelec and Compelec.”

Results-driven ecosystem

Speaking on the growing market opportunity and the strategic focus of the exhibition, the Mentor of Buildelec and Compelec, Shashi Amin stated, “It is expected that the market will double in size within the next five years. To capture this momentum, we have sharpened our focus on Buildelec. Our focus this time has been on creating a results-driven ecosystem, ensuring manufacturers of specialised systems connect directly with the developers, consultants, and contractors who drive their businesses. We are not limiting ourselves to product showcases alone but facilitating direct engagement through targeted meetings to enable commercial growth. I encourage everyone to leverage this platform to the fullest over the next three days.”

Foundation Day

Buildelec and Compelec inaugural coincided with the 78th Foundation Day of IEEMA. Leaders from the electrical and electronics equipment manufacturing industry present at the occasion congratulated the association and acknowledged its role in the growth of the sector.

Innovative Solutions

On the side lines, the Electraverse Showcase Pitch Session was conducted, where 12 shortlisted startups from the industry presented their breakthrough ideas and innovative solutions. The session highlighted emerging technologies and entrepreneurial talent shaping the future of the electrical and electronics sector.
