Adani Transmission Ltd has reported improved operational performance during the second quarter (July to September) of FY21.

The average availability of the transmission network stood at 99.90 per cent during Q2 of FY21, as against 99.78 per cent in Q2 of FY20.

In the first half (April to September) of FY21, average availability was higher at 99.88 per cent as against 99.80 per cent in H1 of FY20.

Distribution: Though sales of electricity by Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) dropped in FY21 when compared to FY20, distribution losses reduced due to better billing collection. However, in the succeeding quarter (Q2 of FY21), bills could be dispatched and that too based on actual meter reading. Due to this, distribution losses dropped significantly to 3.16 per cent.

However, in H1 of FY21, distribution losses, at 8.51 per cent, were still higher than the 7.97 per cent in H1 of FY20.

AdaniSales of electricity by AEML dropped by 24 per cent from 4558 million kwh in H1 of FY20 to 3469 million kwh in H1 of FY21. Due to the pandemic-induced lockdown situation, electricity consumption by industrial and commercial units dropped drastically in Q1 of FY21, though it is gradually experience improvement now.

Collection efficiency at AEML has restored to normal levels and stood at 103.5 per cent in Q2 FY21. Further, customer adoption of digital avenues to interface with company increased manifold reaching 73.3 per cent (e-payments as a proportion of total collection) in H1 FY21 from 47.2 per cent in H1 FY20.
