Inox Solar Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Inox Clean Energy Ltd, has begun production at tits solar module manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

According to a company release, the first phase of the 3-GW plant at Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has begun production at capacity of 1.2 GW per year.

Fully-automated plant

The fully-automated plant, equipped with cutting-edge technology, manufactures most advanced N-type TOPCon solar modules using M10, G12R, and G12solar cells. This globally recognized module technology is the latest in solar manufacturing, offering higher efficiency, lower degradation, and superior reliability, making them the benchmark for modern solar installations. The bi-facial modules further enable dual-sided power generation, boosting capacity utilization factor (CUF) and overall productivity, the release noted.

Integrated plant in Odisha

The Bavla facility is set to scale up further to3GW of module manufacturing capacity as part of its second phase expansion. Inox Solar is also establishing an integrated, 4.8 GW solar cell-plus-module manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal, Odisha. This project will not only strengthen India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem, but also reduce import dependence, and position the country at the forefront of global renewable energy supply chains.

Towards energy independence

According to Devansh Jain, Executive Director, INOXGFL Group, “The first phase completion of our Bavla facility has been achieved within four months’ time. This milestone is not just about expanding capacity—it’s about India taking one more giant leap towards energy independence. With the current deficit in the domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity, large conglomerates such as INOXGFL with integrated offerings, are primed to benefit from the large-scale opportunities that the sector beholds.”

Advanced technology

“Inox Solar is expanding its capacities offering advanced technology solar modules and is fully aligned with the nation’s ambition of self-reliance and sustainability in power generation. The commissioning of the first phase reinforces INOXGFL Group’s credentials and strengthens our leadership in the renewables space,” noted Bharat Saxena, CEO and Whole-time Director, Inox Clean Energy.
