KEC International furthers presence in metro rail space

KEC International has landed its sixth order in the urban transit space, apart from winning mandates in its core area of power transmission and distribution.

In a release, KEC International reported the winning of orders of Rs.1,514 crore, across various businesses.

In the relatively new civil infrastructure space, KEC landed orders aggregating Rs.1,035 crore for construction of an elevated viaduct along with stations for a metro rail project. The said order value also includes contracts for mechanical and civil works for two cement plants.

Commenting on the order wins, Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, said, “We are delighted with the new order wins amidst challenging times. The metro order widens our presence in the urban infra sector. With this order, we are currently executing six metro/ regional rapid transit system (RRTS) projects.”

 

Core area

The power T&D business of KEC International secured orders worth Rs.326 crore for power T&D projects in India and Americas. The order is Americas was landed by KEC’s subsidiary SAE Towers and is for supply of transmission towers. The cables business bagged orders of Rs.153 crore for various types of cables in India and overseas.
