Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has strengthened the state’s transmission network, particularly that of Harda district, by energizing a new transformer at the 220kV Handia substation.

In a release, MPPTCL said that a new 200 MVA transformer was successfully commissioned and energized at the 220kV Handia substation.

Congratulating MP Transco on this achievement, Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar stated that this project will make the region’s power supply more robust, reliable, and uninterrupted. He appreciated the efforts of MP Transco’s officers, engineers, and technical staff, adding that such works play a significant role in the industrial, agricultural, and overall development of the state, the release said.

The new 220/132/33kV, 200 MVA power transformer has been installed and energized on the existing foundation, replacing the old 160 MVA transformer. With this installation, the total capacity of the substation has increased from 480 MVA to 520 MVA.

MP Transco carries out power transmission in Harda district through a total of four extra high-tension substations, comprising one 220kV substation and three 132kV substations. With the recent augmentation, the total transformation capacity of the district has now increased to 879 MVA.

With the energization of this power transformer at the 220kV substation, the connected areas of Harda, Khategaon, Kannod, Sultanpur, Gopalpur, Nasrullaganj, Satwas, and Fatehabad will benefit, the release added.
