Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has enhanced the capacity of the 132kV Raisen substation, the state utility said in a release.

The release observed that the enhancement in substation capacity was achieved by replacing the existing 20 MVA power transformer with a new 63 MVA unit.

This capacity expansion is aimed at providing additional electricity with a proper voltage profile to agricultural consumers as well as consumers in the Sehatganj Industrial Area, in Raisen district. The revamped substation will also help improve power supply to other areas like Raisen, Sultanpur, Naktara, Degaon, and Barla, in the same district.

The new 63 MVA transformer has raised the transformation capacity of the 132kV Raisen substation to 153 MVA. That of the entire Raisen district now stands enhanced to 1,342 MVA.

At present, MPPTCL transmits the power in the Raisen district with the help of nine EHV substations that include two of the 220kV type and seven of the 132kV class. While the 220kV substations are located at Mandideep and Udaipura, the lower-voltage ones are installed at Mandideep, Silvani, Raisen, Tamod, Salamatpur, Bareilly, and Garatganj.
