A new power substation has been commissioned under the Centrally-sponsored Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

In a release, IPDS nodal agency Power Finance Corporation said that the 33/11kV, 6.3MVA substation at Nonial Nowshera in Rajouri district of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir was recently inaugurated.

The inauguration ceremony is part of ‘AzadikaAmritMahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of India’s independence.

The project will benefit more than 1,200 domestic and commercial consumers of Upper Nonial, Lower Nonial, Berari, Gai, Chadyala, Kanara Patrati and the surrounding areas and reduce forced curtailment of power supply in the region & reduce load on the existing 10 MVA Nowshera and 6.3 MVA Chowki Handan substations, the release added.
