NTPC Group, in a statement, said that it recently achieved its highest-ever daily gross electricity generation, exceeding 1 billion kwh.

The statement said that NTPC Group, which includes NTPC Ltd along with its subsidiaries and joint ventures, generated 1,009 million kwh in a single day on January 18, 2021. “The achievement reinforces group’s commitment towards excellence in operation across its power stations,” the statement observed.

PLF exceeds 100 pc

The NTPC statement quoting recent statistics of Central Electricity Authority (CEA) said that Unit-1 of NTPC’s Singrauli thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh achieved a plant load factor (PLF) of 100.24 per cent for the period April 2020 to December 2020. For a plant that commenced operations 38 years ago, achieving such a feat “reflects the operations and maintenance (O&M) capability of NTPC,” the statement said.

Generation up

NTPC Group achieved gross cumulative generation of 222.4 billion kwh from April to December 2020, an increase of 3.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.

NTPC being an essential service provider, it has maintained operations at its power stations uninterruptedly during the lockdown phases while adhering strictly to all the COVID-related guidelines issued by the Government.
