Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) announced that it has received the letter of intent (LoI) for developing an ISTS scheme “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1GW) – Part-C,” for which PGCIL was declared successful bidder under the TBCB framework.
In a regulatory filing, PGCIL said that it has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) to establish interstate transmission system for the project namely “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1GW) – Part-C” on BOOT basis. The LoI was received on September 25, 2026, the filing said.
The project comprises establishment of new 765/400/220kV Alephata substation in Maharashtra, along with 765kV and 400kV lines traversing through the state.

In its filing, PGCIL said that it won the project quoting winning tariff of Rs.430.67 crore, being the annual transmission charges.
14-GW scheme fully awarded
The Lakadia-C scheme under discussion is part of a mega plan to evacuate 14 GW of power from RE-rich zones in Gujarat – Lakadia (7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (1 GW). [Read tndindia.com story dated February 16, 2026 for full details on the 14-GW scheme.]
The overarching scheme involves five project SPVs are indicated in the following graphic.
As can be seen in the table, the 14-GW RE evacuation scheme is now fully awarded with PGCIL winning three out of the five components.
