Polycab India has partnered with the National Federation of Engineers (NFE) to promote electrical safety in India.
In a release, Polycab India said that the aim of this partnership was to create awareness about safe wiring practices, as prescribed by the National Electrical Code of India (NEC), 2023.
The company is sponsoring a series of workshops across Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which is supporting this event had earlier indicated in February that, NEC 2023 code will be mandatory for all electrical installations in India.

Speaking about the partnership, Bhushan Sawhney, Executive President and Chief Business Officer (Cables), at Polycab India said, “Electrical safety is a top priority for Polycab India, and we are committed to creating awareness about safe electrical practices. Paradigm shift
Commenting on the association S. Gopa Kumar, President, of the National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety (NFE) said, the National Electrical Code of India 2023 brought a paradigm shift in the way of using cables and wires in the construction industry – the mandatory use of wires with 70 percent light transmittance for safety services in escape routes, for instance.
